56" Montezuma Earns Its Keep
I was searching for a quality tool box to use in my aircraft repair business. There were three very specific requirements:
- Move easily around the hangar yet stop and not move once it was in position (a loaded tool box drifting off into an aluminum aircraft can cause untold grief and pocketbook damage)
- Carry a heavy load of hand tools and specialized (expensive!) test equipment
- The drawers had to stay in place while it's being rolled around
I looked at brand "S" and others, but even the used ones were commanding far too big a chunk of the tool budget. When this one popped up, I took a chance and ordered it. Couldn't be happier
Let's be honest, this isn't quite brand "S" quality - but it's pretty close. And at 1/4 the price (or better) I could buy a whole bunch more tools to put in it. It has it where it counts - it rolls good, the wheel brakes work well and are easily manipulated, it has excellent capacity, the drawer glides are of good quality, and the drawer latches keep everything in place while I'm trundling between airplanes.

Works great
I bought this about 1 month ago and so far so good. I use it in my trailer for onsite installs. I was most pleased with the fact that all the draws have awesome locking mechanisms when you close them. This is very important for me. I am mobile all the time including up hill!! In comparison the price is right,unbelievable what some of these boxes go for. It does exactly what I need it for. Nice Box!!!
I have to say i was a little nervous in buying a toolbox that i didn't see in person first. I took a chance and ordered one because of the reviews i read on this site. Box was shipped the next day after i ordered it. Customer service from Strictly was just as the reviews said it would be. They contacted me when order was shipped with instructions on unpacking and inspection procedure before signing for it. Box arrived undamaged. The box was better quality than i expected. Don't get me wrong its not snap on quality but i didn't spend $6,000 dollars either. Its a good box for the money. Have to say the more weight you put in the drawers the easier they slide. Has a good locking system and with 6 casters on the bottom you can wheel it anywhere when loaded with tools. I'm very pleased with the box and Strictly toolboxes. Would definitely recommend this toolbox. Like i said its not a Snap on but you get a good quality box for the money. Its a no brainier for me. Buy 5 of these or 1 Snap on for the same money. Great Box!
It has been time to get a new box for several years (the old one is the red one in the background of the first image). I have been adding shelves (and the kitchen counter) and stacking tools two or three deep just to fit most everything inside. I work in aviation, doing first-of-type certifications for aircraft installations, so knowing where my tools are is quite important (it makes for a bad day when a tool ends up in the wrong spot in a plane). Clearly, I needed a new tool box.
I did a lot of research online, in catalogs, in stores....Reading reviews, touching boxes, pondering my purchase. I looked at Cxxxxxxxx, Sxxx-xx, Mxxxx, etc...Fortunately, I came across STB. Between price, selection, and delivery costs (free shipping, since we have a dock at work), I made the right choice. No other box had the right combination of quality, price and service. And, to top it off, the customer service at STB is superb! When I placed my order the box was on backorder. This was prominently displayed on the website and was an acceptable amount of time (about 3 weeks when I placed the order). Within a half hour of placing the order, STB called to make sure that I knew of the backorder and its duration. At the end of the backorder timeframe given (well actually a couple of days earlier than I expected), they called to say that the box was in stock and would ship that day or the next. Within a half hour of that call, they called (and emailed) again with the tracking info. I got the box two days later (it pays to be close to the distribution center) in pristine condition. Well packed, hardly a scuff on the cardboard, and none on the box itself.
As for the box, I couldn't be more pleased. You won't find another box at this price with these features. Raised white letter tires! 6 wheels! Positive drawer latches (as opposed to plastic/rubber detents)! This is a very solidly constructed box. One of my coworkers just paid a relatively large amount of money to upgrade his box to have the double drawer slides on the larger drawers that this box comes standard with. My only complaint with the box is that I waited as long as I did.
Many people have commented on the good looks of this box and asked where it came from. I promptly tell them. Then they ask how much it was. When I tell them, the reaction is nearly universally one of shock that a box this nice costs as little as it does (very high value to quality ratio).

great box for the cost
I recently bought this montezuma toolbox and i am very pleased with it.
It's big enough to hold all of my tools and I don't have any complaints. It's a lower cost box than most out there but it is definitely not lower quality. (Posted on 8/6/12)

Great buy
After shopping around for a larger tool box and checking other brands and competetors I went with the montazuma. I'm a heavy equiptment mechanic by trade and have a fair amount of the larger tools required. I was able to check out a montazuma box that was being sold by my local auto parts store and it sold me. Price + quality= great buy. Several other mechanics in my shop have decided to purchase from strictlly tool boxes after checking mine out. I'll definatlly be expanding on this one (Posted on 7/9/12)

Good Box For The Money
I've been in mechanics for over 30 years, and wanted to get an updated bottom box that had a full length top drawer for my long pry bars. I was apprehensive about buying a used box off e-bay, and the price of the new big name boxes was out of my reach. I actually ordered one from Sxxxs, but after holding my money for three weeks, they told me the box that was on "sale" was no longer available.
I am happy with my 56" box from STB. It arrived undamaged when promised. I was concerned at first about the top drawer being able to carry the rated load of 200 lbs, and then I looked at the bottom side of the drawer and saw that it is appropriately reinforced. The 6 casters makes this combination roll easily across the shop floor, which is great since I don't always work in the same bay. The drawer latches work fine.

My New Tool Box
My name is Wes and I have been a ASE certified tech for over 30 years. I now have a repair shop that I run from my home. I have been living out of an older Mac tool box since 1981. I was out of room. I had so much stuff in the drawers that I had to use two hands to get the drawers to open. I started looking on Google for tool boxes and found Strictly Tool Boxes. I loved the sizes and the prices. I was a bit skeptical because of the prices as I was use to Mac and Snap On products being thousands of dollars more. I wasn't going to spend that amount of money just for the name.
Last year my Daughter-in-Law wanted to get my Son a new tool box and I gave her this website. She got him a Montezuma 56 inch combination set for Christmas last year. When I saw it I immediately saw a quality product. The construction of the tool box is top notch and the roller bearing drawers makes opening them effortless. The roller bearing drawers are great. I knew what I was going get now.
I was planning on getting just a bottom cabinet for myself but Christmas was coming so I waited and when asked what I wanted I said just some cash to put toward a new tool box. My Son and Daughter in Law had already gotten me the top 56 inch Montezuma tool chest for Christmas and were hiding it at there house. They thought I would get the bottom roller cabinet myself not waiting for Christmas. Well I hadn't so now I had nothing to put the new top chest on so I had get the 56 inch roller cabinet for it. Oh darn!
When I ordered the 56 inch Montezuma roller chest I was informed that they were on back order and were a few months from being in stock. Bummer I thought. Well to my surprise I was offered the 56 inch Extreme roller cabinet at only a few dollars more than the Montezuma. It was impossible to pass that up so I now have a brand new Montezuma 56 inch top chest and a 56 inch bottom Extreme roller cabinet.
I couldn't believe how much stuff I had accumulated in over 30 years. I managed to get it all in the new Montezuma and Extreme tool box plus other tools that I had scattered here and there because of not having enough room in the old tool box. With the weight of all the tools in several of the drawers the new roller bearing drawers makes opening them very easy, one hand.
The quality of both in my opinion is equal to or surpasses that of the much higher price boxes offered by Mac or Snap On. Strictly Tool Boxes was fantastic to do business with and I Highly recommend them.

Great toolbox
I came into a position where I needed to replace my little Cxxxxxxxx toolboxes with something that would hold a lot more tools. So, I began to shop around and see what was available. I checked with my Sxxx-Ox dealer, and looked online at the other big names, and a few other names that aren't so well known. I checked out the man's-dream-if-the-lock-worked-toolbox at Lxxx's, the Hxxxx's at Hxxx Dxxxxx, and the Gxxxxxxx's at Hxxxxx Fxxxxxx. After seeing all of these, I'm very happy to have purchased this tool box from Strictly Toolboxes. It has a good drawer layout (especially that long top one), they're very sturdy, and the thing rolls around like a tool cart fully loaded. You can't touch the quality that you get for the price. For those who are on the fence with the big names, save your money.
I've only noticed one hiccup with my tool box, and that is the lock can feel a bit finicky at times, like something's going to give if you twist harder. I just make sure all of my drawers are completely pushed in before I lock it and it's not a problem. (Posted on 10/11/11)

Good tool box
