i made this purchase cause i was looking for a toolbox that would stand the weather and could be moved from truck to truck. My favorite features are the mobility to move the tool box to different vehicles and the ability to see all the tools when open. IMy only dislike would be the lock it seems to need to be lubruicated quite often one that seals a little better would be good. (Posted on 4/11/12)

I couldn't be happier with the toolbox that we purchased. I can finally organize all of our tools and not spend half of our repair time looking for sockets and the right end wrenches. The construction is even more than I expected. I suspect this toolbox will last us for a very long time. (Posted on 9/19/11)

I have been using a medium Montezuma toolbox on and around the farm for a long time we bought the box in the mid 90's. Since I have went to work as a AMS Specialist (GPS Guy) at the local John Deere Dealership I have to deal with Metric and SAE hardware. The medium box only had room for one size so I upgraded. I just got everything transferred! The lid is not as strong as the other lid and I wish the lift racks had props to hold them up. I like it also so I can easy all my tools before I leave a job so I do not forget a tool. I recommend this toolbox to everyone!! (Posted on 8/30/11)

I purchased the MTZ-LA 400 about 1 1/2 years ago. I am a tech for a large CaseIH dealer. Purchasing this toolbox is one of the best investments I have made. I made a frame with legs to raise it up so I can move easier with a forklift. I really like it and would highly recommend it to anybody! it is a well designed and built toolbox. (Posted on 6/12/11)

I have been looking for a new toolbox for about a year, when I found this one online. I was a not sure about buying one online but after doing some research and talking to customer service about it I decided to buy one and hope for the best. When the toolbox arrived it was VERY well packed and protected. After getting the packing off and looking the toolbox over I was very pleased with the construction of it. It was built better then I expected for the price I would even say better then most of the more well know toolboxes found in most shops. Long story short if I had to do it again I would with out question. The only problem I have with the toolbox is the stop on the top left drawer don’t work when you pull the draw all the way out, I am sure it is an easy fix I just have not had time to check it out yet. One of the things I like best about the toolbox is how sought it is, on the bottom of the draws there is support channels that keep the draws ridged even when there is hundreds of pounds in them, they also still slide in and out smoothly with all the weight. I have recommended this toolbox to a few friends and co-works, for the price and what you get it’s a great deal and you’re not paying an extra thousand or so for a decal that says Sxxx-ox or Mxx. This toolbox is the perfect size for beginner or the seasoned mechanic. I bought it because we were limited to size at my new job, but I found out it is the perfect size. It maneuvers easily without tipping over and holds the tools I need. That is probably my favorite part of the toolbox. I don't really have any dislikes for this tool box, unless you count the mouse someone put in there for a joke. I would highly recommend this tool box to anyone, my uncle also agrees. Can't go wrong with this one! (Posted on 8/27/11)

Awesome value! I did a lot of homework and was not going to be spending $5000 for the major name brand 72 inch professional toolboxes. This extreme tool box is constructed with the same 14, 18, and 20 gauge metals found in the other guys similar toolboxes, yet is only a fraction of the cost. You don't have to trust me! Please do your own research comparing this to the tool truck brands 72 inch shop toolboxes. You will see that the weight capacity, storage capacity, gauge of steel, etc. either equal to or exceed the more costly brands.

Shipping was very quick and the communication was very good. This massive hunk of steel has all the storage that i expected. Again, it is as good if not better than other brands that sell for thousands of dollars more. The ball bearing drawers roll in and out with ease. Only one thing I would have changed or liked to see was two sets of drawer slides for drawer #1. Even with that said, I have all my Hansen trays filled with both Metric and SAE in 6 point/12 point in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drives in this drawer and it still pulls out effortlessly. There is so much room that now I have to buy more tools just to fill it and with the money I saved purchasing this jewel I do not even have to feel guilty about it.

Thank you Shannon for assisting me with this purchase. I have already recommended this site to friends and have eagerly encouraged them to purchase from you. Awesome experience! (Posted on 5/10/12)

I worked out of a Mac Economizer 2000 (61" tall 27" wide 18" deep) for 20 years and couldn't ever afford a big fancy tool box from the tool truck. After running out of room for several years, I started looking on the internet for tool boxes. Come across StrictlyToolBoxes.com and found this one for half the $$$ that you would pay on the tool truck. This tool box holds all of my tools and plenty room for more with almost 50,000 cubic in. and the stainless steel top is a bonus! My only dislike is that the top has a rough feel to it instead of smooth. All of my co-workers were very impressed and I would highly recommend this tool box to anyone who wants a great tool box for a great deal! (Posted on 3/11/12)

Great company to work with and, though a sizable purchase, a great value. The tool box is plenty big to hold all of my tools. The paint finish is top notch. The stainless steel top is great and I'm glad I went for a tool box with that vs. the MDF top. Drawers are solid, smooth and well damped. The detents are very strong-I think too strong unless you are loading up the drawers with a lot of heavy tools. I haven't transferred my heavier tools to the lower drawers yet and that may make it feel easier to open. It does include bumpers to swap out so the drawers release easier on open/close. It still feels great and has a nice balance of resistance/security. I don't think the lack of a griplatch is an issue at all. The drawers don't creep and I leave them closed but not past the detent during the day and fully close them at night. The drawers are also nice and stiff so that you can open the longer drawers from the end rather than the middle of the drawer. The 30" depth is great and the drawers allow full access to the entire space.

Shipping was good. The shipping company held the tool box at the dock 90 miles away from me for almost four days and that was hard on my patience. Packing was good though I did have a scuff on the stainless top where something pushed down hard on the crate and one of the supports under the top sheet of the box created a high spot and left a dull glaze that keeps it from looking perfect.

All in all well worth the money. So much better than the tool box store brands and it's kind of hard to imagine how much better a cabinet could be for 2 or 3 times the price. I'd buy it again! (Posted on 2/17/12)

I am a full time auto tech and have needed to get a bigger tool box for a long time. Have looked at Truck brands for a while to trade in my 41" Sxxx-Ox. Still couldn't justify spending the extra $4-$5k for the difference. After all it stores my extra tools and doesn't roll around much. I have a Cxxxxxxx cart I love for my usual ratchets, wenches, pliers, etc. I had looked on this site for months, reading reviews and figuring out which tool box I wanted. When the time came I decided on the EX7218RC. While its not the professional series with thicker gauge steel I believe it will do what I want. The packaging it came in may be built to handle as much hell as the tool box itself. Luckily the freight guy was completely cool with me checking it out before I signed. Rolled into my bay and was very happy with the new tool box. Swapped all my tools over, with room to spare for a change. This tool box is strong as any lower/middle class truck brand, which is what i had before and expected, but with a quarter the cost. I'd suggest this to anyone, in fact I already have to two friends of mine. Detents instead of a griplatch, but not a big deal to me, may be others. Overall, excellent decision. (Posted on 10/30/11)

I was EXTREMELY pleased with this toolbox when it showed up. The toolbox was very well packaged and protected during shipment. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally was able to begin using this unit. I would park this next to a Sxxx-Ox, Mxx or Mxxxx any day of the week. I work with all Sxxxx-Ox at work, but this is kept at my home. My only complaint is the toolbox wasn't built in the USA. (Posted on 7/29/11)

I received my tool box today and this tool box is super stout. I had 30 technicians, not including sales parts and service advisors eyeballing the tool box. My favorite sayings today were “weighs over 1000 pounds” and “German paint and a stainless top”.

The guy that works next to me saw on your website and compared my tool box to his. My tool box has 1.2mm steel so he checked his Sxxx-ox tool box. The Sxxx-ox steel was 1.34 so minus the paint probably 1.2mm as well. The Sxxx-ox tool box cost him 6500 dollars and is didn’t have a stainless top. It is shorter and not as deep as my tool box. It also has 2 fewer casters.

I am not complaining and I am not sending my tool box back. You can’t have it! There were 2 things wrong with the toolbox. A minor 2 inch ding in back side of tool box. You have to look side ways to see it. The major concern was that almost all the wheel bolts where loose and 2 where missing. I tightened them up and installed 2 new bolts. While working on the casters I saw the construction inside the box and it is very well build.

The trucking company you used had my # but didn’t call me. They allowed a parts guy to sign off on it. I just wanted to let you know. The tool box is very well packed. My only recommendation is that you tell your customers to check their wheel bolts. Thank you so much for the great deal. I am trying to send you business, and helping to get the word out. The first word out of my mouth after unpacking for inspection was WOW!! First Class construction Same or Better quality than SnxxxOx or M@@. What great deal compared to what the Sn@@O# guy wanted for a 6 year old box much smaller. When you are in the market for a tool box there is only one place to buy from. Great customer service Can't wait to fill it up! (Posted on 10/21/10)

I'm a shop owner in NJ and i've always been on the hunt for a big box, but never wanted to spend that $8000 on a tool box. I came across this on online and was a little skeptical about the quality but, let me tell you when it showed up i was amazed at the quality. I even thought that that quality of the stainless was going to be cheap, but no it has an amazing finish. My trans builder has a Sxxx Ox box, same size as my Extreme, and he payed $8000 for it and an additional $800 for the stainless top! Forget that! This box is the one to buy. (Posted on 6/27/10)

Review by Mike

I am adding on to my other review like I said and not much has changed about my opinions of this box. It is still working very well and holds all of my tools. The next time I purchase a box of this size however I am upgrading to the professional line because of the faultless caster and the heavier duty drawers. Mainly the top two because that is where I have all my sockets and impact tools and those get very heavy. Also the professional/Extreme duty box has a heavier gauge steel that will hold up for many more years than this one. In conclusion box was a great buy and I would DEFINITELY buy from Shannon at Strictly tool boxes again!! (Posted on 6/19/10)

Review by Mike

I was very happy with Strictly tool boxes customer service. I would definitely order from the again. Box came in 1/2' press board then 1/4' cardboard then 3/4" foam followed by plastic bag for a total of 1 1/2" of more than adequate protection. Now about the box itself. It has very good ball bearing slides that have a ball every 3/8" for the load bearing length of the slide. This is the same as SXXX-XX and MXXXX boxes of similar dimensions. The box has a very heavy gauge steel that is as near as I can tell the same as SXXX-XX or MXXXX( can't tell for sure because of the paint). Casters work well but I would order the faultless casters next time because your "flat" concrete is not that flat( box rides on four of the six caster on my floor due t it not being perfectly flat by the seams). Handles are solid aluminum, top is very nice. If i need a second box would definitely order from her again. Will amend this review after a couple of months just to let you know how the box is holding up! (Posted on 1/7/10)

This box is the best deal and value I've ever found in a tool box. For all of you guys that get the weekly visits from the tool trucks, you know how much one of those boxes would cost - the same as a good used car. This Mountain box is built as good if not better and is WAY cheaper. You couldn't find a better deal! I will be buying another smaller tool box for home. I love the toolbox! It is a wonderful! It does not tip over or slid in the back of my truck. I am able to easily move it in the truck when needed as well as use it in my shop from my bench. Tools stay dry and clean as well. My son had one and it was and encouragement to me to buy one. Would highly recommend this product to others.
The first time I ordered the tool box did not arrive and did not receive a notice that it was not in stock in the color that I wanted. So emailed company and receive a response the next day. I needed it right away for spring work so I changed color and than less than 4 days I received my new white tool box. They were very apologetic and was very quick with order. Excellent to order from! I needed a decent toolbox to get my tools organized. I purchased a large Montezuma chest from a local store but they were sold out of the upper chest and could not get any more. I went online and found this one and thought it would fit my needs/desires. The toolbox is well made and arrived quickly. I should have bought the next size up but this one will do just fine. I received my bottom half of my combination set last week. It came with an additional roll-around cart. I'm still waiting for the top chest which was back ordered. Ordering was easy and the customer support personnel were friendly and very helpful. The quality and craftsmanship of the chest was unreal. It blew my friends away. I also couldn't believe how much it weighed. It took two of us to get it on its side to install the casters. All the draws are smooth and all fittings and joints are solid.

I'm very happy with the decision and purchase. I shopped for quite awhile and this was by far the best value.

I did a lot of homework online looking for the best toolbox value. I was on ebay and other sites looking at used, but this Extreme brand toolbox is awesome. I already had a 42" Snap On and I was out of room for tools. This chest comes with liners and heavy duty casters. It is made very well and I love the blue color. The people at strictlytoolboxes.com were awesome. I had a gentlemen call me when it shipped giving me instructions on inspecting the package and telling me to call if there were any issues. I had no issues! I paid for the lift gate service because I had it shipped to my house. This is the best experience I have had with a item this large being shipped to my house. I would definitely consider buying from them again and will strongly recommend it to anyone. My pictures show deep well sockets fit easy in the top drawer and there is plenty of room for power tool cases n the bottom drawers. There is so much room I now need to buy more tools to fill up the extra drawers. (Posted on 2/8/12)

Great Tool Box! I replaced my very over used 28 inch Craftsman tool box. After 30 plus years of over use it was falling apart. So my main criterion was drawers that could hold heavy tools and slide. The Extreme box works so well. Much more room and everything in its place. I can find what I’m looking for right away.

StrictlyToolboxes did everything they promised, when they promised. Quick free shipping, no taxes for me in Colorado and their price was less than I could find the box anywhere. The box arrived in great shape on a new pallet and packaging. I purchased magnetic tool drawers labels from someone on E-bay that really helped organize the box. With so many drawers it helps. That is one option StrictlyToolboxes could consider.
Thanks

Overall I'm very happy. The toolbox is heavy and well built.

I've only got two gripes with this box. First of all it really needs two handles on each end of the top chest.

When the box arrived, it was on a small pallet and they had the top chest in a cardboard box sitting on top of the bottom cabinet which was in another cardboard box with a strap to tie the top and bottom together.

The truck driver offered to help me lift the top cabinet off the bottom so I could inspect the bottom cabinet and I just about dropped my side. The top cabinet is just too heavy with the drawers in it to lift with a single handle on each side. That said, even Sxxx-ox's KRL 54" top chests only have one handle on each side so maybe I'm asking too much.

The other thing I could do without is the big obnoxious Extreme Tools logo on the bottom. If they would ditch this logo and use they money the save to add two more handles on the top cabinet would be perfect.

But it was well packed and arrived without any scratches or dings. (Posted on 6/30/11)

I’ve finally found a 56” professional quality tool box that performs like the tool boxes costing thousands more. Extreme Tool boxes has exceeded my expectations. I’ve compared this tool box to others costing 2 to 3 times more and I just can’t see 2 to 3 times more quality. The service I received from Shannon at StrictlyToolBoxes.com was every bit as good as the quality Extreme Tools puts in their tool boxes. Thanks again. (Posted on 6/30/11)

It started out a little rocky when the delivery truck pulled up to my driveway and popped the door open........my toolbox had obviously been transferred to another pallet as it was not banded to the pallet anymore and it had tipped over and hit a Snap-On box and pushed it over!!! I told the driver that we might as well break the boxes open up on the truck as I had a suspicion that it would be going back to the terminal. We uprighted the boxes, removed the packing per the instructions and surprise.....no damage!! The moral to this part of the story is to closely follow the inspection instructions that you receive from Strictly Toolboxes!

I easily assembled the wheels and handles (get some help...this thing is a monster and heavy!!) then I closely inspected the boxes and I have to tell you, this thing is high quality. Extreme evidently has found an excellent manufacturer or has their own plant or has their own QC guy on-site in China.....time will tell how the long term performance is of the boxes but my initial impression is that they are hell-for-stout and built to a high standard, plus, my wife said that the blue color "is really cute"!

My shopping experience with striclytoolboxes.com was excellent, they did everything they said they would do when they said they were going to do it....good shopping experience!

The only issue that I have now is finding room for it in my garage....sounds like a good weekend project!

Very nice box...and the shipping speed was first rate. I took a chance with this box, not knowing Extreme Tools to begin with. High quality tool box, very sturdy and built right. I was able to combine 3- 36" boxes and 2 smaller top tool boxes into this...and still have extra drawers. Very happy customer...I will spread the word about StrictlyToolBoxes.com.

I would like to just start by saying that you guy's are proffessionals all the way! You really deliver what you say. I purchased my set of boxes a couple of months ago and they are great. I would never pay the price for Sxxx-xn or Mxx or any others for that matter again. I have been a mechanic for over 25 years and this box by far outweighs the competition when it comes to price versus product. You get every bit the quality of a Sxxx-Ox without mortgaging your house to have it! Way to go guy's and keep up the good work. My box was like brand new when it arrived and I am not sure where the minor imperfections are because neither myself or my employee could find any.
Thanks again! Very happy from Wyoming! (Posted on 7/12/09)

Review by Shopwizard

Right out of the box I was impressed. This set of tool chests is every bit as good as a Mac or Sxxx-Ox box. For the price I paid for this set I expected about the quality of your standard Craftsman tool box.
The 18g steel is bent in all the right places to make these incredibly sturdy chests. The design is very thoughtful and efficient. I especially liked that all of the fasteners that are necessary for assembly have threaded bungs welded into the chest so you don't have to yank the drawers out to fish in the nuts from the backside.
The drawer pulls are exceptional. They are a heavy, nicely polished, aluminum extrusion that is held on with fasteners through the drawer fronts rather than some cheep, thin extrusion that just sticks on or is slid over a flanged bend on the drawer.
There is no one that I wouldn't recommend these chests to. (Posted on 2/6/09)

I got my toolbox within of week of ordering it . Super fast delivery service too. Now that i have had a chance to fill it and work out of it i can say that this tool box is awesome. Easily ranks with M@c / Sn@p 0n/ and M@tc0 tool boxes i have seen or used. Friends that work at shops are amazed by the value and quality. Even the Fed Ex guys who delivered it were super impressed. They mentioned they have delivered other brands with 1/10 the package job this toolbox had. This is my new favorite toy in the garage. No complaints so far, however this tool box could be 100% perfect if :1 drawers had handle locks or some mechanism other than detents (maybe even just as an option) 2 option to upgrade or buy extra drawers to fit where the deep ones are in the 2 lower corners. I would not trade this back for any money though, and i could not hope to touch the price and quality combo from any other brand! (Posted on 4/29/12)

I was impressed by the way that the toolbox was packed. It was fully crated and foam packed. I wonder why other companies do not pack their products as such.

The sliders are great quality rollers. Drawers are strong. I am impressed with the quality of the tool box. After seeing the toolbox and the price that I purchased it, some of the other guys at work are also looking to purchase one.

The detents are tough, but they include lighter replacements. The bolts that hold the handle on are too small and are not the best for securing it to the tool box. The addition of washers helped to properly secure the handle. Some of the larger drawers only have a single slider. In order to keep them properly working and strong I am adding extra sliders to all of the drawers that I can in order to lengthen drawer life and capability. The top did not stand up to chemicals, the stain on the top was ruined by brake clean.

I do kind of worry about the five year warranty. From what I have seen the Montezuma toolbox should last as long as I need it. Even if I have to replace parts of it, the tool box will cost me far less than a comparable size brand name.

A friend of mine uses the 56" box at work. I was impressed by how great of a toolbox it was for the price.

The Sxxx-Ox and Mxx guys are unhappy that I did not purchase their boxes. I have gotten a lot of grief from both of them. When taken care of toolboxes will last a very long time no matter what brand makes them.

I love the toolbox. I am very happy to have it and I can't wait to expand it. The only regret that I have is not buying the elite for the stainless top and faultless casters. (Posted on 4/12/12)

Hello everyone. This is my second tool box. I opted to get a second bottom roller cabinet instead of the top box. I figured with two bottoms I can have a 12 foot wide work space like some other branded mega tool box but at about 1/5 the price. The quality of metal is outstanding and very sturdy. The 1 inch work surface is plenty sturdy. The only down side I have is the drawer liners. They slide and are not that thick. Even though my wife thinks I'm nuts and wants me to not spend the money I have to now fill this monstrous tool box with tools. luckily I can use the huge savings towards those tools. I would recommend getting one of these before fuel price and the price of metal goes up again. I'm sure they wont last at this price (Posted on 1/6/12)

I am a full time auto mechanic and have been looking for a solid tool box for a long time. My mother always told me to shop around. So I did. I looked at a lot of tools boxes from Mxx, Mxxxx, Sxxx ox. Surfed the local for sale adds. Every tool box from what I saw was over priced for the size they had. I went online and found this web site. I liked the size of the tools box and even more liked the price. I went around to some other sites and found nothing but great reviews on the tool boxes.

I went ahead and purchased this tool box. It was the size I wanted and a good price as a added bonus. I did have a few questions about the tool box. When I called I got every answer I needed. I talked to Shannon on phone, A great guy to deal with. He was very Professional and answered all my questions.

When the tool box came in I was very very excited. It was like a big birthday gift to myself. The size of the big was WAY bigger then I thought it was going to be. I loved the size of it. the full length drawers. Its built like a tank. Everyone I know that is a mechanic all think I spent over 10,000 on this tool box. When I size it up with some of my friends over spent Snap on boxes they start to cry. After they see the massive size of my tool box vrs the small size of their tool box.

I tell everyone I know who looking for a solid tool box about what they can find on this web site. The sizes are great. The prices are the best. And the shipping is ungodly fast. (Posted on 9/5/11)

What a amazing tool box. I had been searching awhile for a tool box under 2k. I have been looking at used brand named boxes online but there prices were still above 2k for a used one. After seeing pictures and reviews for this tool box I was sold on the purchase. I was upgrading from a smaller tool box which I sold to a co worker in anticipation of this tool box. Once it arrived I was more than pleased. My only complaint is that I wish there was matching side cabinets in the same color as I've somehow managed to fill it with tools already. All my co workers could not believe what I paid for it. (Posted on 8/26/11)

This tool box is both relatively inexpensive in comparison to others and really strong. I routinely show how strong the drawers are to my friends by placing all my weight on them and there is no wobble or distortion of the drawer itself. I'm not sure of the origin this tool box was made but for the money who cares. You can spend 5 times as much getting the same quality tool box from a truck dealer. Take the savings and order the top chest and side cabinets. I recommend this tool box to anyone looking for high quality with out paying premium for a name and uses their tools regularly. Hope this helps.

Review by Joe monroe,mi

first impression of the box shipped was well packaged ,foam on the inside of the outter cardboard box , With the added packing semi-board over the cardboard box. you will NOT see this from the big 3 manufactors .After inspecting the box along side of my m***** box that is costing me over 3x the price of this box. that is 6" narrower then this box "montezuma classic" (depth wise) H x L are the same..the steel is way thicker in all area's then the M*****box compared to this 15 drawer classic. I have had a s***** too ! AT: 56Lx45Hx30D (SOLD IT). The classic is very! very! very! close in quality, steel thickness other then length, that i payed 1/2 the price for it compared to the s***** box. weight wise! the classic 15 drawer is way heavyer then the M***** box i'm paying for, close to the s*****...
second thing i would like to compare is the drawer's! i managed to get all my tools in the classic box with no problem ,w/some xtra drawers to fill later on. I noticed when fully closeing the drawer's they are quiet! they do not clunck when closed like S*****,M*****,But the bigger manufactors have a upper hand on the semi-locking of the drawers staying closed when moving the box around in the shop. easy fix! "lock the box".
AS for the caster's???? time will tell have only had the box for 2 week's,but when moveing it across the shop up to 8 times a day will give it a work out, including me!.so far they are holding up great!!!!

now for the paint OR powder coat it is layed on great! not a glass finish like a show car but is covered very well....better then the S***** box was!!! my "mistake" had a light area on the right side bottom/back that i didn't notice till i had it out side. 2 years later!
all i have to say is do not be miss lead buy the price....it is a very very well built roller ..
NOTE: TO THE CUSTOMER'S LOOKING AT THIS REVEIW...THIS IS NOT A SCAM...OR A PROMO IN ANYWAY... THIS REVIEW IS MY PERSONAL OPIONON OF THE TOOL BOX I ORDERED.HOPE IT HELP'S YOU!!
THANK YOU, shannon !!! For the great costumer service,I will be contacting you for futher purchase's for this tool box...

After spending quite a bit of time online researching tool boxes and reading countless reviews I decided to make my purchase. I am definitely not a person to spend this kind of money on a product, sight unseen but the overwhelming positive reviews found on here and elsewhere were support enough for me to give the toolbox a try. I am a casual wrencher and didn't need a $7k tool box from one of the big name brands so when I came across the strictlytoolboxes website I was very hopeful I could get a box like I wanted for a fraction of the cost. I have now had my toolbox for a month or two and have been extremely impressed with the quality from the packaging materials it arrived in, to the drawers & build quality. I expect this will be a tool box that will stay with me for as long as I care to work on cars on the weekend.

Very happy with my purchase and would gladly make another, but expect I will never need to do so! (Posted on 4/17/12)

I've been wanting a tool box for a long time and just could not bring myself to purchase a box truck brand box due to the price. Been looking at the craftsman toolboxes and just couldn't bring myself to spend that much money when the quality/durability just doesn't seem to be there. Somehow I stumbled across Strictly Toolboxes and found what seemed like a good price and quality match. After reading some of the reviews on here and Garagejournal.com I convinced myself to order the 56" Montezuma. After ordering online I got a call indicating they were back ordered but I could get it in Black right away. I opted to wait until the blue came in which was only one more week. Strictly Toolboxes was spot on with their estimate. After receiving the toolbox, I did my inspection and went to setting it up. Bolted on the casters, and with a little help put the top box onto the lower box.

The tool box is much stronger than any of the Craftsman toolboxes I have seen and I've enjoyed filling it with my tools. My only problem is I have to spend more money to fill it with tools. Great folks to deal with and I recommend Strictly Toolboxes without a doubt. Highly recommended. (Posted on 4/15/12)

I have been looking at Tool Boxes for a while and could not find one I liked. All the box store toolboxes felt cheap and flimsy. I began to look on line and found this site by searching rolling tool box combos. That search took me to the Extreme Tool Box which led to StrictlyToolBoxes, as well as others.

After checking all the sites I found this site to be the cheapest with the best reviews. I was originally looking at the 41" toolbox combo and was torn between Extreme & Montazuma. I called and spoke with Shannon and he suggested this tool box. I decided to spend the slight extra and purchased it.

I ordered it on 4/2 and it shipped on 4/3 as I was notified via e-mail. The shipping company called and stated they would deliver on 4/11 as that was the first lift gate truck they had. I asked about the truck and they told me it was a semi trailer. I informed them that my driveway could not accept a truck that large. They stated they would unload in the street and leave it at the end of the driveway. I explained that that was not safe due to the road I live on (Blind Curve on Steep Hill). I called Shannon and he said not to worry they deliver to difficult locations all the time. I was very concerned about the delivery.

The truck arrived and the driver knew the area and how unsafe it was to stop in the street. He passed my house found a turn around and came back facing down hill. He was then able to back the trailer into the driveway. He unloaded it and with a pallet jack brought it the 400' down the driveway and put it into my garage.

It arrived very well packed and the driver waited for me to inspect it as instructed. It was perfect. I took my time and assembled the lower box without any problems. I had to call for help to stand up the bottom toolbox after installing the wheels and to put the top box on. It is a very large but 2 people can handle it.

The toolbox is better than you can imagine. It is large and the finish and quality is exceptional. I am glad I went with the larger toolbox.

If you are worried about buying off the internet sight unseen, don't worry about this product or the company, buy it you will not have any regrets.

I highly recommend this toolbox and company. (Posted on 4/11/12)

I bought (2) of the 56" Montezuma 21 drawer tool box sets and the only problem I have is that I don't own enough tools to fill them yet! I was a little skeptical to make a large purchase site un-seen, but after reading the specs and reviews for the tool box I was sold. I had received my tool boxes, but the delivery guy damaged one while unloading it, heavier than he thought I guess. I called Strictly Toolboxes and they talked me through the process and shipped out my replacement tool box the next day. Great Service! I'm very pleased with the fit/finish of the tool boxes and the casters/drawer guides roll supper smooth. The keys are all different for the individual tool boxes, though I don't lock them up, it would be nice if the were keyed alike. First time customer and hopefully will buy a bigger toolbox sometime down the road but in the mean time this tool box will be perfect for 5 to 10 years. I couldn't ask for a better deal for the size of the tool box I received. When I saw for the first time up close it was bigger than I expected it to be. I'm just a moderate DIY'er, but I have one philosophy in buying things that has served me well over the years. That is, buy good quality items that you can use for years and it winds up being cheaper in the long-run. I considered the Harbor Freight tool box, which is a good value, but it's just not on the same level as the Montezuma.

I'm really glad I got the 56" 21 drawer Montezuma. First of all, it looks fantastic. I love the blue! It will look good in any garage. The 21 drawers allow me to keep things very well organized. The drawers slide smoothly and are easy to take out and replace if you need to. It's a great size that allows me to keep things where I want them without loading up multiple tool types in the same drawers.

The tool box is well built. The casters are impressive. I have no doubt they will hold up well even with a heavy tool load. The finish is nice on the tool box. I have no problems at all with the tool box. It's just as advertised and I expect this tool box to last me for decades.

Ordering was a breeze. The tool box went out the same day I ordered. I got it about 5 days later. FedEx brought it right inside my garage with a pallet jack. Inspection went very quickly as StrictlyToolBoxes had detailed instructions written specifically for this exact tool box. The tool box was well packed and had no shipping damage. Set up was simple.

This was a great purchase. Don't worry at all about buying a tool box sight unseen. It's a good tool box and the service from Strictly Tool Boxes is top notch. If I ever get more advanced and need another tool box, I would buy another Montezuma from Strictly Tool Boxes (probably the 72"). (Posted on 2/12/12)

I'm really impressed with this tool box. Buying it on-line without seeing it in person made me a bit nervous, but after reading all the reviews I took a gamble and couldn't be happier. I outgrew my 26" Craftsman and needed a bigger tool box. I started looking at used Snap-on's but couldn't find one for a reasonable price, and looking at the tool boxes at Sears left me unimpressed with the quality. The Montezuma is leaps and bounds ahead of the higher end Craftsman I looked at, and costs less too! Quality is real good...better than I was expecting. The large draws have double ball bearing tracks and are reinforced under the draw for added strength. The draws roll real smooth and the tool box just looks great in blue. My only problem now is filling up the draws....there is so much space. All draws have liners included. I wasn't a big fan of the <a href="http://www.strictlytoolboxes.com">www.strictlytoolboxes.com</a> emblems so I took them off (one was a bit loose at the corner already). They came right off without much effort. The powder coat on the tool box look nice and has a decent shine to it. The draw handles aren't polished, they have a bit of a dull texture to them which will show dirt/grime, but should be easy enough to clean.

The packaging of the tool boxes inside and to protect the boxes, on the pallet was very good. I received the tool boxes without any damage. I ordered my tool box on a Monday afternoon, it shipped Tuesday morning, and was in my garage on Friday.

If you're on the fence about this one, don't be, it's a great tool box. (Posted on 2/10/12)

Well I want to start out saying that my experience with Shannon and strictlytoolboxes.com has been one of the best I have ever come across, Shannon explained everything I needed to know on order process and shipping instructions, not to mention info on the tool box it self.

I was a little concerned about ordering a tool box that I couldn't look at, but I had out grown my 41 inch and needed to upgrade to this 56 inch, a friend of mine ordered one from Shannon and had a great experience so I took a chance and was very satisfied with the whole experience.

What I love about this tool box is that it is BIG and very well built, the wheels are beefy and the drawers slide nice. It even came with drawer liners that I wasn't expecting. When the tool box arrived it was missing 4 drawer liners so I emailed Shannon and within 4 days I had my drawer liners @ no charge and no questions asked, now that's service.

The only thing I have found so far is that the main top drawer that is 51 inches wide sometimes binds if you don't close it slow but I'm sure because it is so wide that the hinges flex a little, but it really isn't a problem as long as you don't try to slam it shut..

I would highly recommend strictlytoolboxes.com to anyone, the customer service and knowledge was impressive, it doesn't really exist anymore these days, if you are concerned about buying from these guys don't worry, you'll love the experience, keep up the great work guys.... (Posted on 2/4/12)

My garage was in need of a serious upgrade. I looked at the stainless tool boxes at our local home improvement store but through web reviews discovered they are not so good. My wife was surfing and came across Strictly Tool Boxes and before I knew it I was ordering the MTZ-BK51618 and the MTZ-7224TC. Shannon called to confirm the purchase the next day. I paid extra for lift gate delivery which is money well spent. I made the delivery drivers wait until the tool boxes were completely un-crated and visual inspection complete before I signed the shipping paperwork. I could not be happier with this purchase. The 72" tool box houses all my machine shop tools, lathe chucks, end mills, vises, heavy stuff. The drawer movement is smooth as silk. The MDF top on the 72" is a great work surface. The casters are heavy duty. I like the black powder coat finish. Included are good quality drawer liners. The 56" tool box houses all my mechanics tools with plenty of room and a good mix of drawer sizes.

You can pay a lot more for other brands but I believe these tool boxes come pretty close to the same quality. FYI, I have been a mechanic for GM and John Deere and now just work on my own muscle car and vintage truck. (Posted on 1/31/12)

Just received my toolbox today...so far so good. I think everyone at work is impressed with the boxes quality. I can't really compare it to snapon as I am not familiar with them ...but it looks as good or better quality than the best craftsman boxes I was looking at. Free shipping was nice. Comparable boxes I saw online seemed to be more money, so I feel like it was a good value also. (Posted on 1/27/12)

We purchased the 56" Montezuma tool box models. The one set was for my son to take to college, to use in lab. The others are for my home "shop". The quality of the tool boxes is better than I expected. Very, very nice units.

My employer supplies the tool box I use at work, it is a "big name brand". I would put the Montezuma right up there with it. I actually like my new Montezuma's better.

Customer service from Shannon@strictlytoolboxes.com is simple amazing. What a great organization. Thanks again! (Posted on 1/13/12)

Why you made your purchase?
Back in April my buddy/coworker got the 72" elite and I was blown away with how nice these are made. Especially for the price here on the Strictly Tool Boxes site,

What are some of your favorite features?
The storage space per square inch, the sturdiness of the construction, and the 5th and 6th wheels which you don't get on other companies tool boxes of this size, and the ease of getting the matching lock set which I don't have yet but I know on there way

What do you dislike about the tool box?
Only thing is that I was sent the wrong bracket to mount the side cabinet MTZ-BK1803SL. I called about it and it's in the mail already on it's way to me

How likely are you to recommend this tool box to a friend?
Already did in a way. It wasn't a friend but service guy doing warranty work on one of our sweepers was asking me about it as he watched me unload it from the truck, and looked at the site from his smart phone. (Posted on 1/11/12)

I had a Cxxxxxxxx tool box for years until I outgrew it. I originally looked online for a large quality tool box by one of the big 3 - Mxxxx, Sxxx Ox or Mxx, but found I could buy a used car for the price they were asking for a USED tool box. I was getting pretty frustrated and almost gave up, but then a friend told me about this tool box and how comparable they were in quality and that did not cost an arm and a leg. I took a chance and ordered the 56 inch.
I love the HUGE size, quality, and drawer configuration of this tool box! It looks awesome sitting in my garage. The best thing was the $3,000 bucks I saved by not going with the Sxxx Ox I originally considered getting. Because of the savings I was able to purchase some nifty new tools.

I have bragged about it to a few of my buddies who are also looking into getting one. (Posted on 1/6/12)

I was pretty skeptical about this toolbox when I found it on the internet. I read all the specs and compared it to other toolboxes that were 3 times as much money or more. I finally decided to order it. I still wasn't sure this was a smart thing to do. After receiving the toolbox I was very surprised that the quality was far better than I thought it would be. Even the people that quoted me prices on other boxes were surprised. I decided to write this after a few months of owning the tool box. So I would be able to value it better after some use. I am very happy with the quality of this toolbox and very surprised at the low cost. I was also pleased with the person I talked to on the phone about this purchase prior to ordering it. He was very straightforward and helpful. Thanks John (Posted on 10/24/11)

I bought this tool box with the feeling I would be able to fill it. I was wrong. Not only do I have more room the quality is unmatched with any other brand. I was very surprised as I filled the drawers the better they worked. This is a very high quality tool box and the warranty is great to no other brand that I looked at could come close. The customer service was great when I called I got all the answers I needed. I’m about to order a side box in a few minutes. If you buy this tool box you wont be sorry one bit worth every penny. I bought this tool box to replace a previously used smaller bottom only Sxxx-ox roller cabinet. I was running out of space and started looking for a matching top box or some other solution. After looking around and researching for a while I was about out of options and not sure what to do. Everything I could afford was not very good quality and everything of good quality was out of my price league. Then I stumbled upon people talking about strictlytoolboxes on the garagejournal forums.

The ordering and shipping process was quick and easy. The packaging had the normal freight wear and tear but because of the great packaging there wasn’t a scratch on it. I would advise to have someone help set it up. I had to get my dad to help put the castors on and lift the upper box onto the lower. He was more than happy to help and see my new “toy” though.

I feel that it is not as high of quality as professional brands such as Sxxx-ox. However, it is head and shoulders better than the run of the mill brands and I feel that what you get for the price is phenomenal. As a side note, if you were one of those people who only want the best money can buy you wouldn’t be on this website anyway. Another minor gripe is the hardware for the handle and tabs that hold the two boxes together are on the cheap side. This doesn’t bother me all that much because it stays in one place in my garage and I only plan on moving it when I move. Plus this can be upgraded in the future.

Now that I own and have used this box I have no regrets. I love the color and drawer configuration. One great thing about strictlytoolboxes is there product line and ability to get what you want. Another thing I love is the top shelf. Overall this box is actually shorter than other comparable boxes I have seen. This allows me to see and use the top shelf without needing a stool or milk crate to stand on. It also doesn’t have a lip on that top shelf which makes it even easier to use. I use the top shelf for pry bars, breaker bars and other long or awkward tools.

I would not hesitate to recommend this box and strictly tool boxes, as a company, to anyone. (Posted on 8/31/11)

I purchased the Montezuma 56" tool box for the price and size. I needed a monster tool box to hold my tools, good thing I bought this one! I had plenty of room to fill and organize the drawers full of my tool collection! I like the smooth rolling drawer guides and the mixture of shallow and deep drawers. So far I have no dislikes for this tool box. Online purchasing was simple and problem free. The tool boxes were packaged very well, made it quickly through shipping and without a scratch. My wife an I easily assembled and stacked the tool boxes. I've been recommending Strictlytoolboxes.com to co-workers and friends.

I was looking for a tool chest to replace the stackable Craftsman rolling tool chest I've had for almost 20 years. The current toolbox was very over loaded and just not up to the task anymore. I needed something with rolling glides, wheels that won't flat spot under load and constructed from a decent gauge material that won't break the bank. My goals were simple or so I thought after looking through a myrad of boxes from different sources.

There are a number of decent units to choose from however the cost is through the roof. Conversely there are a number of very low priced units that don't cut the mustard. I was pleased to find Stricklytoolboxes.com and the assortment and quality not to mention decent prices for the units. Not only can you find a decent product but you can customize the configuration, drawer sizes etc.. as you see fit.

I purchased the Montezuma 56" 21 drawer combo in blue. When the toolboxes were delivered there was some worry and the cardboard had some damage. However the units were well packed and did not have a scratch on them. Its' amazing how much stuff from other places shows up damaged. So I was very pleased with the packing of the toolboxes, took a while to get it all off. Assembly was very easy, just bolt on the handle and the wheels and your good to go. Then lay down the top protector and set the top box down and roll it away. I used some tie down straps and a chain hoist to raise and lower the top box into position.

The blue color is very pleasing to look at and the finish is very nice. The unit rolls nicely on the six casters and is easy to position. All the drawers slide in and out smoothly and have a slight catch to them when closed. Also included are mats that are pre-cut to size and fit nicely in all the drawers and top storage.

I transferred all the tools from my Craftsman toolboxes and other places tool were sitting around. Some of the drawers are heavily loaded with 3/4 sockets, wrenches etc.. and other with large 2+ inch wrenches on down the previous toolbox could not handle. Everything slides in and out just fine, something I was a little worried about before buying this.

All in all I'm very happy with this purchase and would buy it again in second. I will be purchasing a side box for this for some of the bulkier tools around the shop.

I don't really have any cons but if were to be nit picky:
It would be nice to have a little more height on the top lid of the toolbox. (Posted on 8/21/11)

I have been looking for a quality tool box for the past several years. The usual options in my price range were not the quality I wanted. I have watched Craig's list during this time period for a used high quality box but they were all in the $3000 to $4000 range which seemed like a lot for a used tool box. A friend told me about his new 56" Montezuma. I was astounded by the look, quality and price. The free shipping was an added bonus. I feel I've gotten much more than I paid in value. When I ordered, the box and cabinet was back ordered. The staff was very friendly and kept me informed about the status. I have no complaints. Even the heavy drawers slide with ease. I have shown it to several friends and they are consistently off about a thousand or more dollars when they guess the price. Now all of my tools are in one location and well organized. I just need to remember which drawer they're in. (Posted on 8/6/11)

This tool box has a massive amount of storage - in all the right places. Smooth action drawers are a pleasure to use, The drawer configuration is ideal for individual tools and has some larger and deeper drawers for blow-mold sets. This cabinet will allow me to grow my collection without having to add on additional side boxes or replace it entirely. Powder coat finish is flawless. Good and bad news - not likely to buy again because I expect this will handle both my growing tool collection and is built to last a long time. It's been a couple of months that I have owned my new tool box. I am very happy with my purchase. The guys at Strictly Tool Boxes kept me informed every step of the way from order to receiving. Can't get better customer service anywhere.

The tools box is better quality than I expected. Very strong construction. The more I load it up the better it works. Drawers open and close smooth. The finish is durable. My next door neighbor has a very expensive name brand tool box (Sxxx-Ox - which he paid about 4 times more than I did for the same size tool box) and when he saw my new one he was very impressed with quality and price.

I am not a professional mechanic but run a race car out of my home shop so I use my tools a lot. This tool box will last me for a long time. I am sure it will be the last one I NEED to buy, unless I need to go with a bigger tool box. If that happens my first call would be to Strictly Tool Box. (Posted on 7/4/11)

After 10 years off of wrenching professionally I went back. Only I had sold all my toolboxes. Money is tight so I scoured the internet and looked for a used box. I could not find a thing big enough in my price range. I read about strictly toolboxes on a forum and thought it was worth a shot. I am pleased to say I am ecstatic with my purchase! My last box was a snap on classic triple bank. This combo has much more room! I got the snap on for a steal, and this is 5 times the value! I wont lie and say this is the best box on the market, but for the space it has and the quality, it beats the box store stuff in price and quality. I will upgrade someday, I have to many tools, and I add more all the time, so I will need more space and weight capacity. When I do I will buy a pro line toolbox from strictly toolboxes without even looking what anyone else has. I needed a box and I almost bought a craftsman, man I am glad I didn't. All drawers work great, and this thing rolls across the shop better than any other box I have tried. Yes better than my snap on. With the same tools in it!
Now about the service, these guys were awesome! I can't imagine these guys are making huge margins on these boxes, but they treated me like a king. They did what they said when they said they would do it. I even talked their ears off when I called them and they took the time to chat with me. (Which I know can be annoying, in case you haven't figured it out I'm a bit of a talker!)
I wish the top and bottom were keyed the same.......but that's not even a issue....no other brands do this that I know of. I will do this myself and also key my mobile cart the same. My picture shows my box with my little mobile cart next to it. They are both full. I work with another tech who is very cheap, and he is really considering buying one of these due to the price and quality. He currently uses a craftsman box and he loves this one. Overall I could not he happier with my purchase!!! Thank you thank you thank you strictly toolboxes! I love it! (Posted on 6/2/11)

This was my first order from Strictlytoolboxes.com, but it was an absolutely top-notch experience.

I was a bit hesitant to order a large and expensive toolbox online, without having had the benefit of spending some time with the product first. You know, opening and closing drawers, getting a sense for the "wobble" in the drawer and how the box feels overall... But, after having read a couple of reviews of this Montezuma box, and the enthusiasm that the owners shared for the product, I decided to give it some serious consideration. I also read a couple of online queries where the prospective customer was asking some very "aggressive" questions about the quality of the spot welds on the box, and Shannon did just the opposite of what I expected -- instead of merely giving lip service to the inquiry, he posted about a half-dozen extremely close-up pictures of the spot welds just to make the point that he sells only quality goods. Those photos and Shannon's professional demeanor toward this inquirer closed the deal.

The ordering process went very smoothly and, fifteen minutes later, I had a confirmation of my order. Shannon's team kept me up to date on every step of the provisioning process, including a delay in the shipping due to some customs paperwork. These guys are true professionals, and they went out of their way to keep me apprised of developments, including release of the box to FedEx, and then a hand-off to the FedEx tracking system with instructions of what I needed to do upon receipt of the box.

The box arrived on the date promised, and the FedEx delivery guy was just dying to see what was inside the box (he was a tool nut, too). So, he helped me unpack the box and we both checked the chests for damage (there was none). He was as impressed as I was with just how heavy and stout this box was, and how well the product was packed on the pallet. So, I assembled the box, which took about an hour, and it was up and ready for business. Moving the box around the shop was "fun" as it is big and very heavy, but I got what I asked for...

I've had the box for about a month now, and it is a true joy to use. Built like a freakin' tank, heavy, solid, and HUGE, it is exactly what I was looking for. I was concerned that the box might be a little "tinny", like some of the more expensive boxes down at Sears but, frankly, there is no comparison -- this box is so much more. I've since loaded up all of my tools, including many of my electronics tools (i.e. scopes, soldering gear, electronics tools), and I still have plenty of room left over. The drawer mats provided with the box are superb, heavy cushiony vinyl, perfectly cut for the drawer, and they keep the tools in place. The drawers are glass smooth when opening and closing, and closing requires a little extra nudge as the drawers all have detents to stay closed. The paint job borders on automotive quality, and all of the fittings scream quality. There isn't a cheap piece of anything on this box, and I have no question that it will last a lifetime.

So, in closing, not only was the box far more than I expected, in all aspects (quality, utility, value, fit and finish), but the ordering process and customer service made the entire process so much better. I will likely need to get a second (smaller) box in the next few years, and I will definitely be coming back to Strictlytoolboxes.com. Thanks, Shannon and team. You guys have earned a five-by-five rating from me. (Posted on 5/31/11)

I ordered the tool box on Monday morning and it arrived about 1PM on Wednesday. Everything was is good condition when it arrived and all the bolts and washers for the castors and handle were there. It was easy to assemble and everything, including the precut drawer liners, arrived safey. At first I thought there was only one draw liner for each size drawer, but then I noticed all the liners were in one draw so I just had to take them out and put them in the other drawers. The tool box is a much better quality than the boxes you would find in the various chain stores yet the price is competitive. I am well pleased with the box. I was debating between the 42'' and the 56'' and I'm glad I bought the 56'', It filled up faster than I thought it would, yet I still have some space for future expansion. I would highly recommend this box to anyone who needs a larger, quality tool chest. (Posted on 12/30/10)

I jumped on this tool box when it was first made available. I called Shannon to ask him about this box and he said it was a special order box that he had made from Montezuma and that he was taking pre-orders for the tool boxes at this time. He told be that the boxes should ship around the 9th of November, I think it actually shipped sooner. I own a Sn** O* box of similar size so I kind of had an idea of how big the box would be. I will say that the quality is right up there especially for the cost of the box. My Sn** O* box was about 5 times as much. The tool box was delivered packaged very well, no dents or scratches. I assembled the tool boxes and over the next few days loaded my tools in it. I had sold a smaller box and my tools were all over the garage floor so it took a little while to get them arranged. This box has a ton of room and everything fit perfect. The drawer slides seem to work better as you get more weight in them. It came with very nice drawer liners cut to fit, high density foam I think. All in all I am very pleased with this box especially since there is still room in it after I loaded all my tools. I would definitely recommend this box for home use and it will probably hold up well in a shop situation. (Posted on 11/24/10)

Hello,
My name is Randy and I'm the Master technician with the County Detention Center . I purchased the Extreme tool box 56 inch 11 drawer unit to replace an older Waterloo tool box that was starting to show a lot of wear. When I got my new tool box and just taking a quick look at the unit I noticed quickly that the extreme tool box had extra set of slides on the top drawer and all the parts were built much heavier. We use the unit everyday to maintain our 150,000 square foot correctional facility. It works well with securing and transporting our tools and equipment. I would recommend an extreme tool box to anyone and would definitely purchase another tool box if the need arises. (Posted on 3/6/12)

I had a 41in Montezuma tool box and wanted a bigger tool box. The 56in is very nice and heavy duty for what i needed. I have a Montezuma 30 x 19 CPL box on the top of the 56 Extreme Tool box, it fits very nice on there. (Posted on 2/11/12)

I searched for quality tool boxes on the internet and found the Extreme Tool Box website. I had several questions so I called the telephone number on the site and was able to talk to an extremely knowledgeable person who answered all of my questions. I choose the Extreme Tool Box because it equaled Mxxxx and Sxxx-Ox in quality but for a much more reasonable price. Obviously, since I was buying on the internet and not able to see the box in person, I was a little apprehensive. However, once my tool box arrived, I was thrilled. It was exactly what I had hoped it would be. Sturdy, durable, solid and good looking! The drawers slide nicely and feel great when shutting. There is nothing flimsy about this tool box. I also appreciate the fact that it came with drawer liners. Overall, I couldn't be more happy with it and am so glad I choose the Extreme Toolbox. (Posted on 10/30/11)

Recently received our 56" 11 Drawer Stainless Top Extreme Tool Box and couldn't be happier with the product and the service. The tool box was packaged well for shipping with no damage what so ever. I was very impressed with the stainless top and how solid it is, we were figuring on having to reinforce it as we are using it as a work bench to work on cylinder heads and we won't have to do a thing to it. As you can see in the picture we used to use a roll around lift kart and this new box will be a huge improvement. Thanks (Posted on 10/28/11)

We use these toolboxes in our Mobile Maintenance Units that we send out on our job sites. These are great toolboxes! As you can see in the picture provided, we do not have to attach are wheels, as we need these sturdy and stable in our trucks. My guys fabricate steel around them to hold them in place while our trucks are in motion. I have no complaints on these tool boxes, however, I would change the locking system on the drawers as we do carry heavy tools when traveling. (Posted on 9/30/11)

Major hassle for and un-impressive tool box, I have buyers’ remorse.

It took 3weeks and 4 attempts to get a tool box delivered to my shop.

The first tool box showed up with freight damage so I refused it, no biggie, it happens. The second tool box shows up a week later on the same freight line with the same driver and the same type of damage, just in a different spot, darn the bad luck but I’m starting to see a pattern here. Third tool box, same freight line, same truck, same driver, same damage, this is starting to sound like one of the definitions of insanity! I called Shannon at Strictly tool boxes, Larry at Extreme tools, and both of the freight companies involved and told them what was going on. Extreme told me they would send the next tool box in a plywood shipping box and that it would be routed thru a different freight line. To Extremes credit they did shrink wrap particle board to 2 sides of the cardboard outer shipping box but it still arrived on the same shipping line, on the same truck, and with the same driver as the last 3. I don’t know who fibbed to who on the shipping, Extreme to me or Custom CO (Extremes Shipper) to Extreme but a “un-damaged” tool box arrived in my shop!!!!

My first impression after taking all the cardboard and shrink wrap off is that this tool box is no Sna*-O* or Matc* or Cromwel*, It’s a lot closer to a Sears blue light special, just a lot bigger and a LITTLE heavier.
I can’t fault Shannon at Strictly Tool boxes for this, he told me it was lighter that the next tool box up the food chain but I tried it anyway. My mistake.

Closer inspection found a dent in the bottom drawer and it is hard to get all of the drawers pushed in at the same time to lock it up.

Bottom line is I am not impressed.

Response from Extreme Tools

We are sorry that you had so much trouble in getting this order delivered. We continue to work diligently to maintain our excellent customer service record. However, Extreme Tools has no way of controlling the mishaps that occur with the freight lines once our merchandise leaves our warehouse. We acknowledged your claims immediately and sent out a new tool box within 24 hours. We contacted the shipper several times regarding the deliveries and the damaged tool boxes. We requested “white glove service” and also received written confirmation that the final tool box would be delivered by a different 3rd party delivery service. We did everything that we could within our power to get your item delivered in brand new condition.

The Extreme Tools tool box which you purchased is our top selling tool box and listed under our Standard Tool Box Series. The specifications including the gauge of the steel, the weight, the strength of the drawers, etc. is posted and readily accessible for anyone wishing to make a purchase. We have never had a tool box returned because a customer was unhappy with the quality. Most people who have researched our tool boxes know if they want the standard series or if they want the added strength and features of the Professional Tool Box Series.

Since we want our customers to be fully satisfied with the quality of their purchases, we are willing to offer a refund on your current purchase and a discount one of our Professional Series tool boxes if you wish to purchase that one instead. We hope that this offer will help to compensate you for the frustration you experienced in trying to get your tool box. (Posted on 6/27/11)

What a great product. Everything was just as described but better. Customer Service worked great with us with receiving this tool box. We are way up here on the mountain and they laid out everything we needed to get this toolbox here safe and sound. Well packaged to make sure it arrived safe. However, as tough as this toolbox is I think it would of held up without all the packaging. Drawers are perfect size and roll with ease. The toolbox looks great in our shop and it sure cleaned up all the tools that we had hanging on the wall and scattered around the ranch. (Posted on 4/16/12)

Considering the price of the name brands, buying this three bay Montezuma toolbox was a no brainer. The price, quality and shipment are excellent. The size is comparable to the name brand two bay I had before. I am extremely happy of the quality of this Montezuma tool box. The shipment was a breeze and the packaging was great for the protecting the integrity of the tool box in freight. I have already recommended to a few friends that this is the place to buy tool boxes. Thank you for all the help and the excellent toolbox purchased. (Posted on 3/30/12)

I had been looking for a new bigger tool box for a while and was looking at a smaller tool box by a different company and a guy in my class got the Montezuma elite. After looking at it and another tool box made by a competitor I decided that the Montezuma was better built and twice the value. I did a lot of research and looked at a lot of tool boxes and companies. I went with Montezuma and couldn't be happier with it. It was very well packaged and looks great. I plan to wrench for a career and i believe I'm off to a good start with this tool box. (Posted on 2/7/12)

This is a great tool box i did a lot of looking for a new tool box and i have no regrets buying this one. I had outgrown my old tool box and now i have enough room to buy more tools, which wont be a problem with the money i saved. When the tool box arrived there was a little damage to the crate but the tool box was fine. The quality of the tool box is great the drawers open and close smoothly the casters roll on the shop floor well and the tool box looks great. The customer service when you call in is also great very nice and do there very best to answer any questions you have. I have and will recommend this tool box to everyone. (Posted on 12/12/11)

I love this tool box!!! From first ordering till delivery everything was a breeze!!! I needed a larger tool box for some time and after looking at some of the other competitors boxes, the value for this tool box took the cake!!! I like the ease of opening the drawers, and the mobility with the upgraded casters (well worth the upgrade). There is lots of storage, room for all my sockets to sheet metal tools. After having this tool box for a couple months I wish they would have beefed up the drawer locks, the plastic ends broke within the first 3 months, and the drawers will open when you don't expect it. I also wish they would offer a stainless steel top for this model. I work with 40 other mechanics and they all liked the tool box and wanted more information on where to buy one, which I gladly directed them to your web site. Thank you (Posted on 10/25/11)

Shopped around for a while because I outgrew my 41" tool box with top chest. I didn't want to spend all of the money for one of the top brands and a friend told me about this site. I found this tool box on sale and decided to go for it after reading all of the good reviews. When the box arrived I was very surprised at the initial quality of the box. Its very solid and I’m 210 lbs and i kneeled down in the bottom drawer to test it and it held my weight without an issue. I’ve had the box for a year now and never had an issue with it. None the less to say I am more than happy with my purchase. Only problem is that now I’m starting to outgrow this box and i need a side cart for it and there isn’t one out for it yet in orange. I am a technician at a dealership in town and I needed to upgrade my tool box. I was in the market for a three bay that was tall. Me being 6'4", I don't like to bend down a few inches to write on a repair order or use my computer.

I was looking around between the three major brands and decided on the same size. Another technician has that tool box in the shop so I was able to check it out pretty well. It's a nice tool box, but they cost around $5500. I came across strictlytoolboxes.com and saw the 72" 16 drawer Montezuma. I looked at the specifications and went back to look at the other tool box's specs. Not much of a difference, in fact the only differences were in favor the Montezuma. About a month ago "add to cart" was clicked.

It arrived securely surrounded in Styrofoam inside a crate. I opened the crate and was amazed at what just $2000 had gotten me. I rolled it into the shop and have not stopped getting compliments since. The paint finish is great and the drawer pulls look and feel awesome. The drawer liners fit perfectly and, as my shop foreman said, the drawers pull just as nice as his tool box that cost five times as much. The top is nice and smooth so you can write on it. The height is perfect for me, I could not have been happier on that point. I love the fact that it has the extra set of casters. That means that is it meant to hold a heavy load. The drawer sliders actually hold more weight than the original tool box i was looking at. Another big plus is the second full width skinny drawer. I have never seen that on any other tool box and it is the perfect drawer.

Overall I had a great experience with strictlytoolboxes.com and am 110% happy with my choice. Some of the other techs told me if they had to do it all over again they wouldn't have made the same decision. Even one of the tools truck guys was was checking it out. When I told him the price he was blown away. He came back over to me later and said that if I would have gotten a tool box just like the 72" 16 drawer Montezuma it would have cost me over $6000. I did a lot of research on line and read reviews. Decided to order a MTZ-7224BK Because the reviews were positive and price was right.Had it shipped to my shop on time was packaged real well.I like the solid feel and smoothness of the draws. And finish is great .The one thing i found wrong was the swivel casters would hang up on the extra thick flat washers.I replaced with standard size hard washers.Never had a problem again.casters are strong and toolbox does not twist on uneven floor.I recommend this box to any body interested in quality at a fair price. I have been using my box for several months now. It is OUTSTANDING. The other mechanics in my diesel truck shop paid MUCH more for their boxes than I did (they are unhappy about that).
Anyway, the box is holding up very well - I'm into it a couple hundred times a day 6 days a week with no problems. Shannon walked me through the purchase ( I was nervous sending a stranger that much money through the internet), but I can recommend Strictly Tool Boxes and Shannon without reservation. I have recommended them to several friends, and will continue recommending them to everyone.
Thanks again to Shannon for a GREAT tool box at a GREAT price. (Posted on 3/15/11)

Review by Gatewaysysop

Found out about this site and the Montezuma branded tool boxes through Garage Journal and, after reading all the good reviews over there from members who've purchased here, I decided to take the plunge on this 72" tool box.

This box really has everything I need and then some. I love the color (orange) and the overall design of the box. The two shallow, full length drawers beneath the deep top drawer are hard to find in other brands/boxes and that's one thing that really made me finally pull the trigger on this.

The quality is top notch, right up there with the truck brands, at least in my opinion. It's also worlds apart from big box store brands. The extra bracing on the bottom of the drawers and the bottom of the box, the beefy casters and the high quality slides really do set this tool box apart from anything else I've looked at so far.

As far as shipping, the service was prompt and the packing was outstanding. Not a scratch on it and the customer service has been nothing short of superb. I could not be more happy with my purchase and look forward to doing business with this site in the future. I highly recommend this tool box, because I honestly believe there is not a better value to be found elsewhere.

This box is absolutely wonderful. The drawers are smooth and quiet, the box is solid and beautiful. I had a stainless "shoe box lid" made to cover the wood top. The other guys in my shop all have commented on quality of the box, and the LOW price I paid. I could not be happier. Thank You to Shanon for your advice.
I must say, I was uncomfortable sending money to someone I didn't know for a toolbox that I hadn't seen. But am I glad I did. This is the best investment I could have made. I HIGHLY recommend Strictly Tool Boxes and Shannon.
Thanks again Shannon.

I have had this toolbox now for about a month, and have used it alot. This tool box works great for me as a top for a roll around cart or for outside of work projects. If you use the toolbox for a service truck there is a hole in the back that will allow water to come in, not a big deal for a rubber grommet. Don't worry about the gas shocks holding up your sockets it can handle it and then some. The only down side that I have found is that impact sockets are too big for the space between the pegs. You have to skip pegs for some sockets, but these are up to 36mm sockets. Same way with your wrenches if your are hanging gear wrenches, but you can make them fit. Finally if you want to hang your rachets up it will work if they dont have a rubber grip at the bottom, or if they do a carbide bit can persuade them. Overall I work in a shop and in the field for a steel mill, and this tool box has really help me keep up with tools. It also makes you more proficient, time is money and this tool box helps. I would recommend this toolbox to any mechanic. Alot of the guys in my shop now are saving money to buy one.

I have owned Craftsman tool boxes all my life, not anymore. The money I spent over the years was a lot more than the cost of this one. When I needed to purchase a new toolbox I went online and started looking for a tool box that would hold all my tools and last till retirement. This tool box will go the distance. It has a lot of metal in it and ball bearing drawers. The deep drawers are great for the thicker tools (air and battery tools, large wrenches, 3/4"drive, and batteries). The 2 1/4" drawers are the right depth for the smaller wrenches, sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, and other small diameter items. If you are undecided about the 24" versus 30" Montezuma, go 30. You will not believe how much difference 6" makes; it is like having an extra tool box as-far-as square inches are concerned. The hutch is money well spent for me. In my line of work documentation is produced as you reassemble motors. The top of the tool box is the right height to write. With the hutch, papers are protected and manuals are kept close at hand. Again the useable space in the hutch is massive. I love it.

I have had several coworkers look over the tool box, and am impressed with the quality. The more I use this toolbox the more I like it. I have to say it did take me awhile to relearn the location of my tools, but that's true with any tool box. I have to say this is the least expensive tool box, as-far-as the quality is concerned! Par none!

By far the best money ever spent for a toolbox. Every person that has walked through shop has stopped to inspect this tool box. The techs cannot believe the value compared to the tool trucks, nor could they believe how heavy this thing is built. It took several men to pick the hutch up and onto the tool box. I am beyond satisfied. Will recommend this to anyone in the market for a large well crafted tool box. (Posted on 3/13/12)

*This box is used in a Professional Automotive setting everyday within a very large Toyota Dealership*

I ordered the Montezuma Elite 72" with Hutch about 3 months ago and feel I have had enough time with it to give a thorough review. First off, let me say that I couldn't have been happier with the service given to me by Strictly. Joe is incredible, answers all questions and gives you updates on everything. He really gets involved right about when the box is delivered, making sure you, the buyer, understands the entire delivery inspection process. When the box is delivered, it looks as well packaged as any highly important package. It took a good deal of time to get the tool boxes out to check them over. I looked over every inch of the both pieces and found absolutely nothing wrong. There was a hole punched through the exterior wood board, but there was so much protective foam and packaging inside, that nothing got through. This is a testament to their incredible packaging job, and the care they give when delivering your tool box.

After everything is out and setup, I really got to take a good look at how massive this thing is! These tool boxes are tanks, and are very solid. Believe me, the 1400lbs that this setup is quoted at, is no exaggeration, there's a lot of steel in this tool box! It took 4 of us to lift the hutch up on the tool box. Only odd thing, is that I found I had to drill through the SS top to mount the hutch. Maybe I did it wrong? But i couldn't find any other way to mount it. The mounting hardware is hidden so no one would ever know. After the hutch was mounted, I was able to start playing with things. The hutch door opens with a little muscle required just because of how thick and rugged it is. As it rolls back in, it makes a nice thud when it engages it's stop. The ONLY complaint, is that it doesn't go in farther. I keep worrying i might bash my head on it, but when i looked at other hutches, it seems to be a typical trait of all hutches. So no points deducted! The shelf is way nicer than most would thing. Keeping things up out of the way, but still within reach is such a luxury that many in the shop get jealous about. As far as lighting, I have two 36" fluorescent lights. One on the backside of the hutch door (so when it opens its right above the shelf), and one under the shelf which really brightens up the work surface. I love the SS top with the textured finish. I get a lot of compliments on it, as no truck branded tool boxes have a top like this. It really does catch your eye when walking by.

When working on it, it is very solid and does not interfere with writing, as I was concerned about that. The drawers on the tool box are all very solid and open/close with authority. The large drawer up top is immense and will fit anything you throw at it. The fact that is also has two shallow "superwide" drawers below it are a HUGE plus. Most truck brands only offer one. With two, i can put longer screwdrivers/pry bar sets in the first, and in the second, my huge pliers collection. There's definitely no shortage on space in it. The drawer liners are very tacky and keep tools, etc from sliding around when closing or opening. They really are premium liners. The six sprung casters with 4 brakes really aid in moving this boat around. I honestly don't know how I would move this tool box over uneven surfaces without them. Not only do they work and look good, but they take stress of the tool box when rolling over rough surfaces. My tool box came with two polished, heavy duty handles, one for each side. I don't know if I got an extra or if you really get two, but it's nice when positioning it into a spot.

The paint finish is very nice and looks like automotive quality. I'm quite particular of my things and take very good care of stuff. I wax it once a week and wipe it down with mist detailer every night. So it has stayed looking incredible. It does seem to like fingerprints... But I'm sure every tool box does. All in all, i couldn't be happier. It makes my job easier everyday and is a joy to work with. I come in every morning smiling when I see it. It really is THAT nice. I was actually looking at a Mxxxx 5s box for more than what I spent on this, except it was only 56" wide and 25" deep with NO hutch. I knew it just wasn't going to cut it size wise. This tool box fits the bill perfectly. Huge size, incredible quality, and an amazing value. I have been recommending Montezuma (through Strictly of course) to anyone looking for a new tool box. A few apprentices have just started a bit ago and are in need of a tool box that will suit them for awhile without breaking the bank. I showed both of them this site and they immediately decided to bail on the little, overpriced Sxxx-Ox boxes they were looking at. They were even discounting them 50% and were still more than an equivalent Monty. Another Master Tech here claimed he was going to order a Hutch for his Mxxxx after seeing mine just because of how expensive the Mxxxx one was. I seem to be converting a good deal of techs in the shop. The others just walk away with their tail between their legs, knowing they spent 3x what i did for a tool box that in my opinion, isn't any better. Montezuma is about to take over. With their prices and quality, I can't see any reason why they wouldn't. (Posted on 9/5/11)

I've been using my 72" Montezuma Elite with the hutch for about 9 months now. It gets used 10 hours a day, 4-6 days a week. It's a vault. If I had to spend the money all over again, I'd still buy the Montezuma. I shopped the tool truck brands, and the Montezuma simply offers more for the money. With the money you save compared to other brands, you can buy a lot of tools to go in your new box.

I was nervous about buying such a big-ticket item online, but the customer service I got from Strictlytoolboxes.com eased my mind. They answered all the questions I had and kept me updated on the status of my tool box from the factory to my front door. The tool box comes shipped in a very stout and tightly-sealed container.

The only thing I would improve on this tool box is that the hutch door sticks out about 3 inches too far when it is in the open position. I wish it was recessed a little further so I could lean in more when I'm using the stainless steel work surface. Also, if you like a shiny tool box, the paint on the Montezuma is almost a semi-gloss matte finish. It doesn't have the deep, automotive-quality, glossy finish of the tool truck brands.

The overall quality of the tool box is excellent. I expect it to last well beyond my lifetime. The thickness of the steel, the strength of the drawer slides, and the security of the locking system are all professional grade. The drawers are very deep and come with nice liners pre-installed. Once you see a Montezuma in person and realize the money you can save, you have to ask yourself if it's worth a few thousand dollars more just to have a tool truck brand emblem on your tool box.

Spending the extra money for the hutch was an excellent move for me. With a $20 48" fluorescent utility light fixture mounted in the top for extra light, and an $80 dorm fridge set on top, I now have a super nice set-up. This box keeps me more organized and helps my work day go smoother. I'm no longer wasting time rummaging though a completely full tool box, losing tools and sometimes damaging them from having to cram the drawers shut. I also love the fact that the hutch comes with a shelf, and you can mount more shelves and racks on the inside walls for additional storage.

If I have to leave work due to a family emergency, I can throw my tools inside the hutch, pull the door down, lock it, and be gone in a few minutes, instead of wasting time having to individually put tools back in their drawers. Once you get used to the convenience, extra storage capacity and additional security that a hutch offers, you won't want to go back to a regular tool box.

This tool box stands tall, gets noticed, and has a presence all its own in the shop. It's my office and it helps me make money. I did a lot of research and hemmed and hawed over pulling the trigger on this purchase, but ever since I first un-crated my Montezuma, I've had no regrets. If you need a bigger, better tool box to get the job done without the ridiculous price tag, buy a Montezuma and don't look back. (Posted on 8/28/11)

I am a professional industrial mechanic who builds, repairs, and installs heavy equipment such as high pressure diaphragm compressors, pilot plants, and chemical reactors. My tool box does not get moved often, but it is full of heavy tools. Wrenches up to 2" and sockets up to 4" are used on a daily basis. These drawers will be loaded up with up to 200lbs, so I hope they last! I searched for almost a year for a tool box that would work, and these Montezuma's seemed like the best deal. I hope my review answers a lot of the questions that are not answered by the product description.

About the tool box:
Purchasing: Buying the tool box could not have been any easier. I called Shannon up and asked a bunch of detailed questions. He was quick with the detailed answers. He had to check delivery time on the hutch, and got Montezuma on the phone while I waited. He had an answer within 1 minute. After ordering the tool box, Joe called me the next day to let me know the tool box has shipped, and to confirm the emails that he sent me detailing the shipping information.

Delivery: The tool box was delivered in 3 business day (impressive from KS to PA over a holiday weekend). It arrived safely with no visible damage to the packaging. The FedEx driver was patient and gave me no problems doing a full inspection of the tool box. He admitted that he was very curious to see what a 1400 lb, $4000 toolbox looked like. The crate was solidly built around the tool box, and the hutch is folded up and flat packaged with about 200 sq ft of 1/2" thick styrofoam. Well done Montezuma!

Assembly: The rolling cabinet comes with the wheels attached, so no assembly is required. The detents in the drawers are very tight and it will feel like the drawers are locked, but they are not. The keys and spare detents were in the top widest drawer. In order to attach the hutch, you need to remove the stainless top of the rolling cabinet, flip it over and finish the holes that were started in the MDF. I drilled 1/2" diameter holes so that there would be sufficient clearance. (started out with 3/8", but it was too tight) Metric hex head bolts are supplied for attaching the hutch to the rolling cabinet. They work, but should probably be about 1/4" longer. The 2 bolts that go in the rear are difficult to install, so I replaced them with socket head cap screws(M8 i think??). The hutch is supplied with (4) lifting eyebolts which will make installation much easier if you have access to a crane/engine hoist/forklift and lifting straps. The lifting points have an M12 thread. (my toolbox came with (3) M12's and (1) M10, but luckily I had extra M12's in my arsenal of rigging supplies). The hutch is folded flat for shipping, and I thought it would be difficult to assemble. It is hinged at 3 points and goes together very easily. I lifted it by the 4 points with an overhead crane (see pic) and it just about fell together into place. Once assembled and installed on top of the rolling cabinet, i had a bit of difficulty figuring out what was keeping the hutch door from sliding. There are two bolts holding in small angle clips in the top rear left and right corners. Remove these two bolts and the hutch door will slide freely.

Dimensions: The strictlytoolboxes dimensions for the tool box must include the lifting eyes. The actual dimensions are 73" tall (without eyebolts), 72 7/8" long (79 1/8" with handles), with the hutch being 26.5" tall.

Hutch: The door is very heavy and solid, you almost need two hands to open/close it. The pegboard is strong enough to hold a good bit of weight, and it has standard 1' spacing with 1/4" holes. The shelf is 12.5" deep and made of a 300 series stainless (not magnetic). It is adjustable to 5 different positions from about 12" high to 20" high. It seems like it will easily hold 100+ lbs. The lock on the hutch is the same design as a standard garage door with full length solid round bar on each side the securely locks into a slot. The bar is 5/16" (8mm) thick. The heavy door slides easily on 1.5" nylon rollers, and has a heavy full-length piano hinge.

Rolling Cabinet: The top is 1" thick MDF, with a 400 series stainless top (magnetic). The stainless is about 1/16"-3/32" thick, with a nice small checkerboard pattern. The pattern is nice, because scratches will blend in. The drawer detents are very tight to the point that it almost feels locked. I guess they have a to break in a little bit. The drawers are very solid and stiff, you can open the widest drawer by pulling on the very edge of it. The stiffeners underneath the drawers help a lot in keeping the drawers from bowing under heavy load. The wheels are great! They make it very easy to move the tool box into tight areas. Because there are four turning wheels, the tool box can be pushed right into an opening along the wall (the spring on the center two wheels will allow them to lift up and be out of the way). I can move the full loaded tool box in and out of the opening you see in the pics by myself.

Finally a Conclusion: After searching for almost a year for a perfect tool box, I found it. Do not look any further-you won't find a better product for the price or better customer service. (Posted on 7/19/11)

I am a service technician for a Land Rover dealership and have been looking for a new / used 3 bay (72") tool box for almost a year. My local truck tool dealer has been helping me find something new or used within my price range, with no luck. Almost everything has been over $6000 for just the lower tool cabinet. I found Strictly Tool Boxes online. After a few months of research, I decided to purchase the 72" 17 drawer with hutch for under $4000 to my door. Even though the tool box was on back order the guys kept me informed on when it would arrive.

The tool box arrived (paid for the lift gate shipping, do it do it) with the tool box packaged very well. The hutch came folded up on top. I thought that I would be assembling the hutch for hours. It was very easy, just folded out the sides, 2 bolts held down the top to the sides and installed it on the box (with some help from other techs). Here are my only two small issues with the whole box. The directions did not say to flip the metal tool box top over to drill it out to have access to bolt down the hutch and how to remove the shipping brackets for the door of the hutch. A very quick phone call to Strictly toolboxes and Montezuma fixed these issues. They also said that they would look at these small things and fix it for the rest of you!!

The tool box itself is very professional at amateur prices! The quality is up there with the truck brand tool boxes. The drawers open and close very smooth and solid. The spring loaded casters are as good as what is on my Sxxx-Ox tool box. The stainless steel tool box top looks great and I have had no problem using it as I need to being a technician. The tool box came with 3 different keys for the main tool box, the lock box and the hutch. I called Strictly Tool Boxes and they had no problem sending me a matching set. Some people like having the security of 2 or 3 different keys, but my janitorial key ring can not handle 2 more new ones. They had a new set out the next day. After getting it set up, I actually made some of my fellow technicians mad. After seeing what I got for the price that I paid, they were concerned with their purchase of their toolboxes. I know that 2 other technicians now have their tool boxes for sale so they can upgrade like I did to the Montezuma 72"! If Strictly keeps selling to all these professional technicians they will need a used tool box section to help us sell our tool boxes (hint hint).

Thank You (Posted on 7/1/11)

I needed a new tool box but didn't want to pay the high price of the local tool distributors. So, I did an internet search and found the Montezuma. I was skeptical of the low price but after ready through reviews and forums, I decided to purchase this tool box. The tool box was on back order so it took a couple of months to get it. It was well worth the wait. I am very impressed with the customer service. They told me exactly when it would arrive and kept me informed. The tool box arrived in a new wooden crate that was well put together. I didn't realize how massive it was until I opened the crate. The tool box is huge and drawers are very deep. It arrived scratch free, had all the parts and everything worked. As big as the tool box is, it rolls very easy. The four swivel casters and two fixed center casters make it a breeze to move. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a nice but inexpensive tool box to buy a Montezuma. (Posted on 6/23/11)

I was looking for a new tool box for about a year and was seriously considering trading my Snap-On double bank in for a triple bank... I'm glad I didn't!!! I stumbled across this website looking for other options and I was just like everyone else... skeptical. I researched these tool boxes online for quite some time, after the guys at Strictly toolbox answered all of my questions and I realized this was most likely gonna be a solid toolbox I gave in and ordered one. It was shipped via Saia and I was so anxious to get it I went to the terminal and picked it up, so it only took about 4 days to get here. I have had it for about a month and a half now and I am extremely pleased with this tool box, I really like it better than my Snap-On. If you look at the picture that has both of my toolboxes in it you can see the difference of the two toolboxes and I paid a lot more for the little one than I did the big one. The only thing I don't really care for is the detents on the drawers but the tool box comes with different detents and I haven't tried them yet. I love the fact that this tool box comes standard with the stainless steel top and the spring loaded casters. I have been telling all of my buddies and people that I deal with in the field about these toolboxes. This tool box truly is just as good as any big brand name tool box and thousands cheaper... I know everyone says the same thing but it is the truth. If I decide I need more tool space you can bet I'll be getting the topper for this toolbox. (Posted on 4/5/12)

I have been researching the high end toolboxes for more than a year. I looked at everything from budget to high end tool boxes. The lower end would not cut it in my line of work and the high end tool boxes were way out of my price range. I ran across StrictlyToolBoxes.com and was very hesitant to jump on the Montezuma bandwagon, only because I have never seen one in person. To make a long story short, I took the chance and I can say, I think this is probably the best surprise I have ever had when buying online.
The toolbox was shipped with so much padding it took me longer to unpack it than to stock it with my tools. The only complaint I have with my entire purchase is with the shipping company. There was a little damage to the back but I couldn't do anything about it because the shipping company Saia had someone other than myself sign for it. I should have been the ONLY one authorized to sign for my box. Anyway, the toolbox was shipped extremely fast. The toolbox matches the best boxes I have seen in quality. I have people come up to my box and can't believe I have twice the toolbox they have for a third of the price.
Bottom line, buy this toolbox if you are in need of a heavy duty, great quality and extremely heavy tool chest. I believe that this tool box will last me the rest of my career. Once I decide that I am in need for more room, you can bet that I will be purchasing a top box from Strictly Tool Boxes. And one more thing, if you have ever heard of the term “supply and demand”, you will understand what I am about to say. You better buy one of these soon because once the cats out of the bag about these toolboxes, the price will start to match the quality.

My husband has been a Mechanic for close to 30 years spending the last 20 plus working on heavy equipment. We have bought many toolboxes over the years including Snap-on, Mac, Craftsman and other but this Montezuma by far is the best he has ever had. He is so impressed by it in many ways. He was a little skeptical when he saw the price -- wasn't sure of the quality he would get but it is the best he has ever used. The price is a great deal -- awesome value for the money, delivery is not only free but easy and quick. The toolbox is of the highest quality - - Sturdy, strong deep draws to fit everything with ease. Really there is just no better deal out there and now he will never purchase from anywhere but Strictly Toolboxes again. Also their customer service is top notch -- always get a live person that picks up by the 2nd ring and they are happy to answer all your questions.

If you are looking for a new toolbox then I highly recommend the Montezuma Elite -- it is an exceptional value and a great product.

Of all the tool boxes I have checked out, this one gets the trophy! I have studied every make and model from the most expensive Snap-On to Kobalt, Craftsman to Harbor Freight, Matco to Husky, and Montezuma could not be beat. Price, storage capacities, weight capacities, quality of material and workmanship, ease of ordering, courtesy of employee, and delivery time were all outstanding. I highly recommend Strictly Tool Boxes to everyone I see looking at tool boxes now. In the photos I posted you will see two pics of myself AND my brother standing in one of the long drawers and one of the small drawers. Both drawers had a 500 pound weight capacity. Together, my brother and I weigh about 420 pounds and the drawer never even flexed. We were even able to move the drawer easily while still standing in it. If I could post a video of it I would. I hope I can find enough tools to fill this massive tool box and then have to buy another one just for my specialty tools. I hope you are as happy with your purchase as I am. (Posted on 1/22/12)

I am a full time diesel mechanic at an International dealership. All 8 other mechanics in my shop have 72" Snxp-xn boxes with hutches. I have worked out of my buddies 72" snxp-xn tool box that he wasn’t using for the past 9 months till I could save up enough to buy my own. I stumbled across this site while looking for used tool boxes and was skeptical at first. I did as much research as I could, comparing drawer arrangements, weight ratings, and the gauge of steel used in construction. Finally I ordered a 72" Montezuma with a stainless top and faultless castors. It arrived 2 days later in great shape.... the packaging was incredibly thorough; 1/4" plywood outside of 3/4" styrofoam with thick plastic covering the tool box itself.

One look at the tool box and you can tell that these tool boxes are built well. The drawers slide very smoothly and securely on the rollerbearing slides and extend all the way out without being difficult to return inward. The handles that you install on both ends are very classy looking and are very strong.

Several items that are different but not necessarily worse than the tool truck boxes are as follows: The stainless top is textured slightly which makes it a little hard to write on, the drawer detents are rather stiff but the tool box has softer spare detent blocks and instructions on how to install them, and all the end castors swivel which make it easy to maneuver but also make the box slightly more difficult to push in a straight line.

Things i like about this tool box... the extra security drawer, the great paint job it has, the no-skid drawer liners that come with the tool box, the 2 wide shallow drawers underneath the socket drawer; I use one for wrenches and the other for screwdrivers and pliers, I also like having a handle on each end of the tool box. The thing I like best is that all the other guys in the shop are asking the tool truck dealer why their tool boxes cost so much!!! After seeing my tool box, one of my coworkers said that Snxp-xn is becoming a brand name cult!

That said, I have been working out of it for 2 weeks and I love the tool box! All the other guys in the shop have been amazed at how nice this tool box is for a 3rd of the price that they paid for their tool boxes. I would be amazed if anyone else who saw my tool box would still pay $10,000 for a tool truck tool box! I would never hesitate to convince anyone to get this tool box over more expensive tool boxes. As long as Montezuma keeps making them and strictly-toolboxes keeps selling them I will never buy anything else from anyone else! (Posted on 1/20/12)

I am a former professional auto technician, currently an engineer still working on my hobby cars. This toolbox is just what I needed for my current ongoing garage renovation. The quality of this toolbox is excellent. I like the size but I will say that 30" deep requires you to open the draws a long way to get at tools in the back and reach a long way as well. I might want to consider the 24" deep version the next time.

Also my first toolbox arrived damaged. Following all the inspection procedures sent to me by Strictly Toolboxes resulted in an immediate return and they got me a new one out the next day. I was very happy with working with them on this. (Posted on 1/13/12)

I just received my Montezuma 72" Elite tool box the other day and was impressed by its sturdiness. The tool box has a nice stainless top that seems to be quite heavy duty. I received the the tool box within a week of ordering it, and was impressed with how protective the packaging was. I can't wait to get the tool box to work and start using it every day. Best toolbox we have had to date, we used others, the ones that come from a tool trucks and this toolbox beats them hands down. In the past we seemed to have a lot of door problems with the weight we would put into them, not with this toolbox. We are kinda hard on on toolboxes in our shop. So far this toolbox it doing better than everything else we have had in the past. (Posted on 11/29/11)

I own a auto body shop so I decided to upgrade my old Mxxxx toolbox. My other techs have nice Cxxxxxx toolbox and sxxx-ox toolbox and when you see them your first impression is “wow, look at those nice toolboxes”. They were very impressive from my point of view and they did bring some class to my shop when they brought their tool boxes in. That is when I wanted a upgrade both sxxx-ox and cxxxxxxxx said I have this toolbox for $5700 but it was not as big as the Montezuma. Cxxxxxxx said I can get you a similar toolbox for around $4200. I looked at both of them and the toolboxes were pretty sharp nice colors the only thing that they lacked was the amount of drawers and the size of the drawers also the nice color the toolbox is. That is when my mind was made up to get me the Montezuma.

When my toolbox came and we unpacked it you could just see the look in techs eyes when we got it all unpacked and put the handles on the beautiful toolbox. The first words out their mouths were “How Much did you pay for this?”. Later that day my one tech said to the sxxx-ox man “I wanna try and sell my toolbox”. That put a smile on my face when I heard it.

I love this toolbox - plenty of room, nice and big, color is great, the quality is top notch, and customer service is right on point. I had to give a key to my son called them up and without question they sent me 2 keys free of charge. My experience with strictly tool boxes has been a good one. Great company to do business with! Way to go guys!

I'm already setting up to make my next buy. A side cabinet and hutch. Now when customers come in they see my toolbox first out of the other 3 toolboxes. My toolbox is the real eye catcher! Thanks STB.

PS . I almost forgot when sxxx-ox saw it the first thing he said was that it was not good quality. Our boxes are painted on the inside and most boxes you get online are just painted on the outside and the bearings are junk as well. Being the Asshole I am I said “Really?” in front of a shop full of people “Lets see.” we walked over to my toolbox and I pulled out the top draw and checked with my flash light. I said “Looks all painted to me!” then I went and stepped into the bottom draw and said push the draw in and out while I was standing in it again without any problems drawer worked great! I weigh 260 pounds. That sure shut him up. (Posted on 11/12/11)

I've been using my new tool box for a little less than a month and absolutely love it in every way! Very heavy duty drawer slides, and spring loaded casters which is very nice, and so much room! I have had most the other brand name tool boxes, but I definitely like this one the best, and I really like the price tag that came with it! I even showed this tool box to the tool guys that come by the shop, and even they were very impressed and jealous once they realized how much I paid for it. Even the Sxxx-Ox guy asked me where he could purchase one for his own garage, funny stuff!

Also, I was very surprised when it came in with the stainless steel top already on it, no extra cost to me! What an amazing bonus, and the great customer service I received with this company was fantastic, very patient to answer every question I had about my new tool box! Great company, great customer service, and outstanding product!! (Posted on 10/20/11)

I priced tool oxes of this size from 3 major tool dealers and none of them could match the price of this tool box. I've had this tool box in the shop for over 7 months and I don't have the first complaint, except that I keep buying tools trying to fill it up. The quality of this tool box is outstanding from the double slides on the deep drawers to the fully braced bottom and heavy duty casters. The prelined drawers are also a nice touch. I recommend strictlytoolboxes.com to everybody who ask about my tool box, Shannon was great to deal with and my tool box was shipped quickly and arrived undamaged. (Posted on 9/1/11)

I LOVE my new tool box! It is high quality construction at an affordable price and I know quality construction because I a general contractor and have to maintain all of my equipment (toys) and tools. I did a lot of research before I purchased a tool box and found your product to be far superior to the competitions overpriced tool boxes. The only problem that I can find with my new tool box is that I had to buy more tools, oh darn! I would recommend this tool box to anyone who appreciates their tools, as long as they have room, it is big! (Posted on 8/21/11)

After running out of room in a much smaller Craftsman tool box I decided to upgrade. My boss had just purchased a slightly smaller tool box from here and everyone was impressed with it. The purchase process was smooth as could be and the tool box came crated to withstand a small bomb blast. I am glad I spent a little extra for the deeper box, stainless steel top and upgraded casters. It was worth every penny. What else can I say except that everyone else here hasn't. After talking to my local Sxxx-Ox dealer, I'm glad I didn't shell out the cost of a cheap car for a tool box. No one needs to spend 10K or more for a tool box. I'm confident this tool box will last me forever. Now the only problem is I have to buy more tools to fill it up! (Posted on 8/2/11)

I'm a small trucking fleet owner/mechanic, our tools were spread out across several cheaper store brand toolboxes and a workbench, I wanted something to consolidate all the tools into one box without having to spend Tool truck brand $$$$. After much research I decided on a Montezuma 72" elite combo. The roll cabinet arrived a couple weeks ago and is even better quality than I'd read. This toolbox is built like a tank, no flex to the drawers at all, even when loaded with heavy truck tools. The large wheels on the elite toolbox roll very easily for a box this size. Coming from smaller 18" deep tool boxes, I really can't say enough about the huge 30" deep drawers. I would not hesitate to buy a Montezuma tool box again. Absolutely tool truck quality at a much much lower pricetag.

Shannon and Stictlytoolboxes.com was very easy to work with and answered all the questions I had quickly. The matching top chest was backordered when I originally ordered my combo, but it shipped today and should arrive sometime next week. I can't wait to get the top box mounted!

I must have looked at this website 20 times in over 6 weeks. Let me tell you just call Strictlytoolboxes.com and talk to Shannon or Joe, they will help you out.

The Elite series is a heavy duty professional grade tool box. I think it is heavier than the tool truck guys (you know who they are). The only thing you will miss by buying this tool box is all the extra payments you would be making to the tool truck guys. You will be the ENVY of all the guys in your shop or all the people in your neighborhood because of the QUALITY and the PRICE. The quality of this tool box is so high that I can tell it will last for decades without a problem. The only way I can see you overloading the drawers is if you store plate steel in them. The drawers extend fully so make sure you have enough room for it (you need at least 60 inches deep).

The day it arrived I spent 3 hours after work moving all my tools into it. MONTEZUMA ELITE is the tool box to buy, and STRICTLYTOOLBOXES.COM is the place to buy it. I could not be happier.

THANKS GUYS! (Posted on 7/2/11)

Wow this is the first thing ever purchased by me with no contact at all and for a lot of money, but have to say Strictly Tool Boxes hit it out of the ball park for me, what a great tool box!!! The tool box is top quality, shipping went great, and the packing on this thing is wonderful. I may use the high quality crate for something else.

I do have to say this will not see the inside of a shop, I’m a retired chef and will be using it in my new home as a kitchen island and bar height eating, my work surface will be 42x88 and will have a folding wing on end for addition seating 8 to 10 people at a time. My tool box arrived in perfect shape today. The FedEx guy was very accommodating on letting us inspect it and even helped in the unpacking. We spent several minutes looking for keys which I assumed were probably taped to the box somewhere. My wife finally called Shannon and found out the drawers aren't locked, and the keys are inside the tool box. I'm very impressed with the quality of the box. Compared to the older craftsman boxes we have its built amazingly well. I'll be ordering the matching top chest for it in a few days. (Posted on 6/30/11)

This is a GREAT BOX! I had a smaller Sxxx Ox set that this box replaced. What a great buy - the quality and craftsmanship are impressive. After loading the new box and using it for a couple days I'd put it up against the best that Sxxx Ox or Mxx has to offer. I farm and ranch for a living so everything from complete SAE AND METRIC 1/4 to 3/4 drive sets, wrenches sets and a big varitity of air tools and attachments plus alot of special tools plus everything else inbetween, so there is alot of weight in the bigger tools, it takes hardly any effort to move the chest plus all the drawers roll smooth as silk even the heavy ones. A big THANKS to Shannon you were very helpful ,I would recommend this tool chest to anyone, Thank you to StrictlyToolboxes and Montezuma Mfg. for a high quality product at an extremely good price Sincerely Hooter in Mo.

I'm a shop foreman for a large european auto shop and I use this box everyday. It gets a lot of weight put in it and abused. It holds up great and I will buy another one before I ever look at another Mxx box again. A comparable Mxx box was twice the price and smaller!! Not to mention it was slightly lighter weight and a lower payload tolerance. This is a great box for the professional, and overkill for anyone at home! Great deal! (Posted on 3/3/10)

I've owned this box for 4 months now, and I'm absolutely amazed at the quality of this tool cabinet. The drawers pull out all the way, giving you easy access to tools at the back of the drawer. The locking top drawer (top right) is perfect for writing notes, and info onto R.O.'s, in the event you have parts on top of the box, and the locking top on the drawer is very sturdy! The toolbox drawers are advertised to hold 250lbs max, and they live up to their names! They're extremely sturdy, don't wiggle and I don't think twice about them binding up while closing. Each drawer comes with its own liners, and the tool box comes with different detents for the drawers so you can modify the amount of pull you need to open the drawers. The details on this tool cabinet really make it worth the purchase alone, the drawer handles are screwed onto the drawers, and are one solid piece of metal. No sliding shiny covers, no locks that you have to slide to open the drawer, you don't have to lift up the handle to open the drawer, just pull. And these drawers by NO means will open on their own, or slowly creep open, the detents work perfectly. The toolbox has 6 caster wheels, making really maneuverable, and easy to roll. The handle that comes with the box also makes moving it easier, the handle is like a bicycles handles, two bars with rubber grips, make it easy to get a good grip, and get the tool box to move where you want it to, which is helpful because when this tool cabinet is loaded, it gets pretty darn heavy! If I ever run out of space in this toolbox, I'd definitely purchase another and put it next to my current one.

I was on the verge of spending $10,000 dollars on a similar tool box by another big brand, and am definitely glad I went with this tool cabinet. It's an amazing toolbox and I have no regrets purchasing it. I've had many techs from my dealership, and from neighboring dealers come and look at it, and all of them were impressed by the build quality of this tool cabinet. I'd definitely recommended they consider purchasing this toolbox from here, because of the amazing customer service strictly toolboxes offers, they treated me with respect, and were VERY courteous, and shipping/delivery was a breeze. If I had a choice to choose between buying this toolbox from here, and buying one from a big brand, I wouldn't think twice about the big brand.

I purchased the Montezuma MTZ-IM350 Toolbox and the Extreme Toolbox EX7217RC. What a surprise when out of the crate jumped this girl to help me with my tools :) :) , WOW! I used her for days to get all my tools straightened up, Shanon you are the man... LOL

Shanon recommended the Montezuma for the organizational capabilities of the sockets and wrenches with such easy access, while recommending the Extreme for the rest of the Misc. tools. And he was absolutely right. One flick of the Montazuma's handle and it springs open giving you instant access to the most used tools in the shop. So, I placed it right on top of the Extreme box, In the Extreme box I placed everything else I can imagine would fit (Accept the girl) :( :( I spent days and days reading reviews and pricing different toolboxes, Strictly Toolboxes beat everyone's price even a guy on Ebay who couldn't deliver. They are built so well, I set the drawers like a staircase so that girl in the photo actually walked to the top of the toolchest using the drawers (I had to hold her for safety of course.. :) :) I also added the optional wheels, I call them spinners, I got them because they just make the box look even better.. Both boxes are rugged, heavy duty and seemingly bullet proof. Delivery was quick and punctual, communication from Strictly Tool Boxes about time of arrival and etc. was phenomenal. Their is only 2 things I can say to improve these boxes, 1) is if you made that bottom drawer 4 inches deeper I could fit that girl in there,,, :) and 2) The matting that comes from the factory in the Extreme drawers isn't the best, Once you have your tools all freakishly organized like I do, when you close the drawers they tend to slide back just a little each time with all your tools on them.. Its not a big deal it was just annoying to open my tool drawer and find the padding shifted back 1/4 inch.. Doesn’t seem to be enough friction in the rubber mating to hold them in place, however it was easily fixed by purchasing third party tool drawer padding.. Now this setup is perfection at its finest.. :) And that’s just the way I ROLL.. :) :)

I am a 10 year professional auto tech. I bought the 72" Pro box when I needed more toolbox space. I have previously owned truck brand toolbox's. I would have bought another toolbox off the truck, but I was having a hard time justifying the 10K price tag. For less than half the price I bought the Extreme toolbox. I have been using the toolbox daily for over a month now. The Extreme toolbox seams very well built and I don't feel it is any lower quality than a toolbox off the tool truck. This is a very heavy and solid box, it takes some serious effort to move it around.

Dealing with strictlytoolboxs.com was very pleasant, they were quick to return emails and calls. I had the toolbox less than a week after ordering it. The toolbox came on a heavy wooden pallet in a wooden crate. It was very well packaged.

The finish of the toolbox is very nice, the paint has a nice glossy look to it. The drawer handles have a very solid quality feel to them. The drawer slides are smooth, even on my heaviest loaded drawers. The included stainless top makes a nice work surface, and I have yet to dent it. One feature that would make the top a bit nicer would be a raised edge on the front to prevent tools from rolling off.

The locking system works better than any other toolbox I have owned. The drawers have spring loaded catches on them so if the toolbox is locked with a drawer open, the drawer can still be shut and locked.

My only serious complaint with the toolbox is the detent system used to keep the drawers shut. They are very stiff and it takes a solid push and pull to shut and open the drawers. Each time I do this all the tools in the drawer slide back and forth. The drawer liners are run of the mill foam liners and not very tacky.

Overall I am very happy with the toolbox for the money paid. I feel this is a toolbox that will last a long time even in a daily use situation.

Great tool box. Had a slight problem with the locks nothing major. What I was most impressed with was the service. Delivery was great. I had a nice driver. I think he was just as anxious as me to see the box, he was very helpful. If your thinking about buying this box and can't afford it, don't feel bad about getting the cheaper one. This one is a tank! The cheaper one is only 100lb less I have a felling I would've of been happy with that one as well, but I don't regret buying this one. Good Luck (Posted on 4/10/11)

I ordered the box and it came in 5 days packaged like it was family heirloom. After I opened it, I couldn't believe the quality of the paint job, the thickness of the metal, I compared it to my coworkers boxes which are all the other brands that cost 2 or 3 times more and I wouldn't trade mine for any of them. This is by far the nicest box with add on components available if needed to create the "Ultimate Monster Box". I e-mailed a message requesting information and within 1/2 hour I recieved a phone call giving me the information I requested. The service was awesome. I don't know if I'll ever need another box, but if I do I'd buy it here, as I shopped other vendors and nobody could beat the price here. (Posted on 12/2/09)

Let me start by telling you I have been an ASE professional Automotive Technician for 14 years. My prior Tool box was a Mxc toolbox, and the majority of my tools are Mxc, Sxxx-Ox, and Maxxo. My Mxx box was overfilled with all the tools I bought over the years and it was time to upgrade. I shopped Sxxx-Ox and Mxxxo for approx 2 years, waiting for that GREAT deal on a DREAM box that never came around. Even though they were giving me double in trade in value of what my Mxc box cost originally, it was still going to cost me approx $5500-$7000 for the box I wanted. I decided to search the Net to see what other alternatives were out there. I believe in Quailty foremost, while my Mxc tool box lasted 12 years and still worked great, I did not want to by any junk. I searched the cxxxxman Professional line of tool boxes, but there boxes are almost as expensive as the Big three. Then I found out about Extreme Tool boxes. It sound like a great deal, but how is the quality?? Made in China? I had read a lot of reviews found here and on Garage Journal, and everyone who has bought this box has spoken VERY highly about it. So I called Shannon on Tuesday Morning, whipped out the plastic and gave it a shot. To be honest, I was not very excited about it, and I wasn't expecting anything special. I figured I was settling for the cheapest I could find. He said it would be at my Dealership no latter then Friday of the same week, and it was. Shipping was great. This tool box was packaged Great! The Fed Ex guy said he delivered a lot of Sxxx-Ox tool boxes and none of them were ever packaged that good. After I removed everything and seen the box, I said Holy Sh*t, this thing is big! I opened and closed a couple of drawers, and thought I had bought a Mxxco Box! This box is built like a tank! The drawers slide great, close tightly. Paint is nice and smooth and clean, and NO SPOT WELDS!!! Every top of the line box I had ever seen always had ugly spot welds on the front of the drawers, but hey what do you expect for $15000. Everyone in the shop was extremely impressed with the box, and the PRICE!. Now, it might not be the best quality box ever made, but I can tell you it's just as good as a Mxc, Sxxx-On, or Mxxxo Box for 1/3 the price. It is the best, smartest purchased I have ever made. I will say if you are a Professional Mechanic and looking for a new box, don't hesitate to buy this tool box. (Posted on 9/11/09)

After looking at toolboxes, I decided to go with extreme 72 inch tool box. I couldn't be happier with this box, it was everything I expected and more. Each drawers are very big and very solid, . I would recommend it to anyone, it has the same quality as the big name boxes but 1/2 the price. (Posted on 1/23/09)

So i bought this toolbox out of spite. The tech that works next to me just spent over $5000 on a 56" Sxxx Ox box. That was in addition to $2000 for his trade in. I wanted to make him jealous. I think it worked. When I saw his Sxxx Ox box I was disappointed in its quality. They are nothing like they were in the past. The drawers sag and there is handles are crap. When my box was droped off I was blown away. If it wasn't for the logo i would have sworn it was a Mxxxxo. The drawer look almost the same as dose the layout.

The action on the drawers is mostly smooth but they are a bit hard to close to the lock position and it takes some force to open when loaded. I think this will loosen up with some use. The slides seem like there high quality. All the drawers except the shallow ones have 2 slides per side. This is more than i can say for the Sxxx Ox that has 2 on the top drawer and one on all the rest. The drawer pulls look great but are attached by screws from the inside. This wouldn't be a problem except the drawer front is double wall and theirs a small empty space in it. I'm worried that they may loosen up after time. I don't think this will be a problem that cant be fixed with a screwdriver.

The stainless steel top was nice and solid but it is not smooth. It feels like brushed aluminum. I think its going to stain easily. It is also totally flat, there no lip on the front to keep a socket from rolling off.

As for the frame itself it is very solid. I have not removed the drawrs to inspect the inside but from the outside it looks great. The finish if perfect. It looks as good as any toolbox i have seen. I got the closeout 2007 model and it didn't have the spring loaded casters. It would have been nice but not worth the $450 price tag. I think i can find them for less.

All in all this is by far the best tool box for the price. I'm my opinion this is as good or better than any of the big three tool truck brands. There's about 40 or 50 people and they all were amazed at the quality and no one could believe the price i payed. All the thing i mentioned were more for clarification that the pictures don't show. If you get this box you will be happy. (Posted on 6/8/09)

Review by "OKIE67"

I Purchased one of the 2007 closeout boxes and was "extremely worried", this is three times more money than I have ever spent on a tool box. I had never seen an Extreme tool box. It took me 2 weeks debating the issue to decide to make the purchase, and it took 5 days for shipping after my purchase and I was worried I had wasted $3,000. I ordered "Blue" and let me tell you when I pulled that crate off the truck and opened it, everyone at work and a few truckers that were in are shop having repairs done and even the delivery driver waited around to see it, they all said if they could give their children 1 x-mas gift in their life that would lite their face up the way mine lit up when I opened the crate their life would be complete. Each morning when I get to work I love seeing that box. We have guys with Sxxx-xn, Mxc, Mxxxo and Wxxxxloo boxes and none of them compare in quality, let alone value. I plan to add on to this box in the future but I cannot see ever replacing it. This box is everything Shannon promised me and more, I would recommend it to anyone who really wants a high quality box and never thaught they would be able to afford one. We have 1 guy in our shop with a $24,000. Mxxxo box that was custom built and he cried when I told him what mine cost. I am very impressed with all aspects of the quality of this box. Well built and has plenty of room for my tools plus. Rolls great with the faultless casters and the brakes hold great. Everyone who has seen my toolbox really likes it, even my "Sxxx-Ox" dealer likes it but is upset that I didn't buy a toolbox from her for three times the price. I'm telling everyone to go to Strictly Toolboxes.com. (Posted on 2/22/09)

I work in a family owned business restoring, customizing and building classic cars. I've been gradually building up my tools and due to most of my money being dumped into my 69 camaro, snap on was out of the question. I bought this to go atop my mac tech box to expand my storage space. The toolbox is well made for the money, it has 18 gauge steel. It has the detents drawer latches which I like better then the snapon plastic slide things that feel cheap and the craftsman, waterloo whole handle moves up thing which feels like the handle is broken. The draws feel strong and they roll out smooth. It definitely feels stronger then regular or heavy duty craftsman or kobalt tool boxes which are in the same price range as these. The only draw back to me is the aluminum draw pulls are textured and look kind of cheap my mac tool box has billet aluminum draw pulls which are way nicer but that box was 3700 so not really all that upset. All in all if you need extra storage space and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg I think you will be quite happy with this tool chest. I already have a worker at the shop looking into one of their bigger ones. (Posted on 4/4/12)

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. I am a John Deere Mechanic and do 80% of my work on the road. I need a toolbox that can withstand driving down the road and in the field. Montezuma has done that just for me. The structure of this tool box is awesome. I built a cage mainly to protect the tool box from other special tools i have in my service truck. I have owned all other brands of boxes, but none seem to be as sound as this one. Thankyou Shannon for all your help and questions that you answered. A+++++++++++++++++ (Posted on 9/7/11)

I've had this 41 1/2" Extreme Tool Box combo just over a week now and couldn't be happier. The quality is great, the drawers are extremely smooth, and the capacity is just what I was looking for. Delivery was quick and easy with a lift gate delivery (super deal @ $30), Shannon kept me informed all the way through the process. I shopped the big box stores and they couldn't hold a candle to the quality of this combo. The tool truck prices are just crazy and definitely not worth the extra $$$!!! I decided to purchase an Extreme toolbox because I believed they build a great quality and value with a low price toolbox for anyone's needs. I researched many different brands and styles of toolboxes and stuck with Extreme . They offer an upgrade on the model I choose with a higher grade of body and drawer slides. Also offered a extra protectant for the outer paint. (Posted on 2/9/12)

I brought home a 41" tool box (upper & lower chest) from the "Big Box Store". I was not happy with it, so I returned the tool chest. I went on line & found Strictly Tool Boxes. I called & talked to Shannon & his information & knowledge & salesmanship were very professional. Of all the websites I looked at I liked his the best. I ordered the tool box & received it in 3 days. The delivery truck showed up without the power lift gate & we had to get help to unload it. I called Shannon & he said he would refund my $30.00 for the truck not having the lift gate & the inconvenience. My toolbox is great & exceeded my expectations. Shannon did everything he said he would do. Also, anytime I called during business hours I talked to a person & not a recorder. Thank you for the great experience. About a year and a half ago I purchased a Montezuma 42" roll away toolbox and top cabinet. I thought that it would be sufficient for my needs, but I quickly realized that I needed some more room. I started looking and found the side box that accompanied my Montezuma tool box. When I started checking around I found that this side box would not be available much longer so this along with more storage helped with my decision to add this side box to my original purchase. Couple of things that I really liked about this side box were the ease at which it attached to my original tool box, and I also really like having the top of the side box to set tools on as I work. If there is anything I dislike about the side box it is the fact I should have added it to my collection sooner. I would and already have recommened this product and others to purchase, in fact a friend of mine just received his 72" toolbox last week. Great product and I love it so far. Thanks (Posted on 3/30/12)

I purchased the 41.5" Extreme Tools Bottom Rollaway. All I can say is this thing is amazing! When I received it, I was so thankful to see that the packaging was in perfect shape! It was packaged very well. I have read a lot of good things about these tool boxes online, so I was expecting it to be pretty nice. Once I got it unpacked, I was still amazed how well it was built. The drawers are sooo smooth and quiet you wont believe it. It came with pre cut drawer liners for every drawer, and it rolls effortlessly around the shop. I can't say enough good things about Extreme Tools, and strictlytoolboxes.com for the great service! I honesty recommend this tool box to everyone.

My name is Wes and I have been a ASE certified tech for over 30 years. I now have a repair shop that I run from my home. I have been living out of an older Mac tool box since 1981. I was out of room. I had so much stuff in the drawers that I had to use two hands to get the drawers to open. I started looking on Google for tool boxes and found Strictly Tool Boxes. I loved the sizes and the prices. I was a bit skeptical because of the prices as I was use to Mac and Snap On products being thousands of dollars more. I wasn't going to spend that amount of money just for the name.

Last year my Daughter-in-Law wanted to get my Son a new tool box and I gave her this website. She got him a Montezuma 56 inch combination set for Christmas last year. When I saw it I immediately saw a quality product. The construction of the tool box is top notch and the roller bearing drawers makes opening them effortless. The roller bearing drawers are great. I knew what I was going get now.

I was planning on getting just a bottom cabinet for myself but Christmas was coming so I waited and when asked what I wanted I said just some cash to put toward a new tool box. My Son and Daughter in Law had already gotten me the top 56 inch Montezuma tool chest for Christmas and were hiding it at there house. They thought I would get the bottom roller cabinet myself not waiting for Christmas. Well I hadn't so now I had nothing to put the new top chest on so I had get the 56 inch roller cabinet for it. Oh darn!

When I ordered the 56 inch Montezuma roller chest I was informed that they were on back order and were a few months from being in stock. Bummer I thought. Well to my surprise I was offered the 56 inch Extreme roller cabinet at only a few dollars more than the Montezuma. It was impossible to pass that up so I now have a brand new Montezuma 56 inch top chest and a 56 inch bottom Extreme roller cabinet.

I couldn't believe how much stuff I had accumulated in over 30 years. I managed to get it all in the new Montezuma and Extreme tool box plus other tools that I had scattered here and there because of not having enough room in the old tool box. With the weight of all the tools in several of the drawers the new roller bearing drawers makes opening them very easy, one hand.

The quality of both in my opinion is equal to or surpasses that of the much higher price boxes offered by Mac or Snap On. Strictly Tool Boxes was fantastic to do business with and I Highly recommend them.

Sincerely, Wes. (Posted on 1/29/12)

I came into a position where I needed to replace my little Cxxxxxxxx toolboxes with something that would hold a lot more tools. So, I began to shop around and see what was available. I checked with my Sxxx-Ox dealer, and looked online at the other big names, and a few other names that aren't so well known. I checked out the man's-dream-if-the-lock-worked-toolbox at Lxxx's, the Hxxxx's at Hxxx Dxxxxx, and the Gxxxxxxx's at Hxxxxx Fxxxxxx. After seeing all of these, I'm very happy to have purchased this tool box from Strictly Toolboxes. It has a good drawer layout (especially that long top one), they're very sturdy, and the thing rolls around like a tool cart fully loaded. You can't touch the quality that you get for the price. For those who are on the fence with the big names, save your money.

I've only noticed one hiccup with my tool box, and that is the lock can feel a bit finicky at times, like something's going to give if you twist harder. I just make sure all of my drawers are completely pushed in before I lock it and it's not a problem. (Posted on 10/12/11)

I purchased my EX7217RC about 3 years ago, I have been absolutely impressed with it from day one. The construction of these tool boxes is very impressive, they are definitely built to last. I work at a TA truck stop shop and we have a lot of customers in and out of our shop every day and I don't think a full day ever goes by that someone does not ask about my tool box, I always show it with great pride and I could not tell how many people I have given the web address and phone # to Strictly Tool Boxes. I was starting to outgrow my bottom cabinet and was needing more room. I did not know extreme was coming out with the EX7215TC. I had been looking for something that would look good on top of my roll cabinet and meet my new space requirements. I gave Shannon a call to see if there might be any chance to get extreme to custom build a top box, he informed me they were in the process of putting them on the market and they should be available around Feb. 1st. I told him if he would contact me when he had a blue box available I would buy it. He called me in late Jan. and I ordered it. The new tool box showed up 3 days later. The only problem I had was getting on top of my roll cabinet. He does not have the weight listed on the spec sheet but this box weight is right at 800lbs. according to the shipping manifest and I believe every ounce of that.

I would say my favorite feature is the absolute smooth operation of drawers, full or empty they are perfect. I also really like the way they wrap the stainless over the full top lip of the drawer front to prevent scratching if you drop a wrench on it. There are so many great engineering ideas in construction of these tool boxes that if you would think an old mechanic designed them. They truly put a lot of work into an absolute great design and user friendly tool box. I am very satisfied with my tool box and look forward to doing more business in the future with Shannon, next summer I will probably add the EX2404SC to my tool storage. (Posted on 3/13/12)

I recently was employed as a diesel mechanic and purchased the toolbox because I was in need of a heavier, better quality toolbox with more room. After realizing that the payments for a tool box off of a tool truck would be as much as my truck note, I began to look for other options. I stumbled across the website for StrictlyToolBoxes.com and was impressed with the quality of the toolboxes and their specs. The toolbox I purchased was a 57" 12 drawer and has ample room, extremely high capacity drawers (250 lbs and 500 lbs), and is a well made heavy toolbox that I expect to last me many, many years. The only concerns I have are non-greaseable casters and some difficulty in maneuvering the toolbox as I must move from bay to bay frequently. I have already recommended this toolbox to a friend as the quality of the toolbox out weighs the few trivial concerns. (Posted on 3/12/12)

I worked a summer on the wheat harvest out west and we had these tool boxes on all our service vehicles so I was fully aware of the strength of these portable boxes when I ordered it but it has still continued to amaze me. I hunt northern Pennsylvania and in deer season I spent an entire week running rutted, rough, dirt roads on rock and in mud and not one tool fell out of its place in my tool box. It’s also very easy to get tools out of. (Posted on 1/6/12)

I first saw these tool boxes in 2008 on the wheat harvest in the western states. I liked the design from the start but when I got back to PA, I couldn't find them. I recently found them through A&W Direct and got the manufacturer info and located them here. I love this tool box. You can get all nescessary tools into it and it doesn't take up too much space. Back in the late 90's I worked a service truck that had a Montezuma box on it. From then on I knew I had to have one for myself. Finally, after 10 or so years of digging sockets out of the bottom of hand boxes, I bit the bullet and bought the toolbox I'd been wanting for so long! The price may seem steep, but after you see it up close and realize how rugged and well built it is it's well worth the money. Not to mention the time saved hunting and digging for a half inch wrench that's always at the bottom. Even before I bought my own I persuaded several guys into buying one just based on my experience. Now that I have one of my own I let it do the persuading. Another feature I love is the bed space in my truck that a regular truck box takes up! I ain't built a mount yet, but it's in the works! The only dislike I have is there is no designated place for metrics. But that's my fault. No biggy though, just double stack and ya got it. I'm 100% happy with it. Thanks, Dusty. (Posted on 9/2/11)

I ordered a MTZ-ME300AL-BK last Feb for my son after we took his car to a local auto part store to change out a weak battery right in the parking lot. It was plenty cold and I wanted to hand in the old battery and make sure the cables etc were OK. I knew he had tools because i had given him a set and it was in his car. Well, half the tools were lost and we froze our butts off trying to make do with a 5" adjustable wrench that barely turned a 10 mm nut buried in a U shaped clamp There was no deep socket for the other side which came unhooked as it loosen and fell down in a tight space. We had no long nosed pliers to fish that out and then stabilize it for reassembly. There wasn't a free finger turn with the corrosion All the tools he had were jumbled up in a box and this was aggravating in that sub zero parking lot with a failing sun.

After a few choice 4 letter words and my son reminding me it was my idea to change this out in Car Quest's parking lot I told him i knew of a tool box that literally could save his a__ the rest of his life. It would have room, missing sizes were obvious, is was indestructible, waterproof, lockable and fairly portable. I thought it would be a great gift. Once, as he reminisced about Xmas gifts he said some of the best were the ones he didn't ask for - like that first set of tools. He needed an update and I didn't like freezing my a__ off in that parking lot (Posted on 8/27/11)

I am a Marine Corps Veteran and currently work as an aircraft engine mechanic. I know how tough toolboxes need to be to live up to harsh conditions. I am incredibly impressed with the quality of this toolbox. It is on par with the best toolboxes I have ever seen in the field. I cannot believe the amount of quality you get for the price you pay. Forget Snap-On, Mac Tools, Lista, and all the other overpriced brand names that are out there putting your wallet through the wringer. This toolbox goes above and beyond the call of duty. Best of all, you won't feel any kind of remorse over the price you may have paid for the name tag that other brands glue onto their products. This box is a bomb shelter for your tools! I like this tool box. I farm and never seem to have enough tools with me. I've got a covered bed on my pickup that is aluminum diamond plate just like my new Montezuma box. Before I had to walk from side to side of the truck to get at different tools. Now I can get to everything in one location and push the tool box out of the way if I need more bed space. It is very well made and was priced competitive. My only problem was that when my old boxes were empty the new one still wasn't full. Nice problem. (Posted on 2/23/12)

My neighbor down the road bought his montezuma tool box when he was 19. It's been over 30 years and its still in good condition even after sliding off his flatbed pickup. What a toolbox! I had it out in the oil patch could not believe how sturdy it was. It fell off my tractor from about 4 feet off the ground and I drove over it with one tire. That put a few dents in the toolbox. It took me like 15 min to fix it, and now its just like new. This toolbox was the only way to go! (Posted on 7/30/11)

My Brother, Randy and his Son Larry just completed outfitting a tool/fuel truck for our farming operation in Washington State. We considered several kinds of tool box installations on the truck but chose the Montezuma Crossover box shown in the pictures. It is well constructed, has lots of room, and the tools are open and organized for timely access. No more rummaging through the old tool box and trays looking for the right tool. The tool box was priced right and we expect that it will provide excellent service over the coming years.

While outfitting the truck, several neighbors have stopped by to look at the Red Box to check it out, all with favorable comments (Posted on 8/7/11)

One of the problems I have had is finding the correct size wrench in a drawer full of wrenches from 1/4 to 2" in size. I saw this toolbox and figured it would help with my disorginazition. I thought it would be another knock off tool box after owing nothing but sxxx-ox tool boxes in the past. I was very surprised to find the quality of the Montezuma was very good. The tool box is made of good heavy metal and has a nice finish. One of the things I like the most about it is being able to see at a glance my wrench sizes and weither all my sockets are in the rack at the end of the day. If I could change one thing it would be the lock system. The key is a little cheesey but it seems very secure. I just do not like the lock. I have already recommend this tool box to a couple of my friends and to some of my customers. I am trying to justify purchasing another one for my kids race trailer. (Posted on 8/4/11)

From the color blue to the strong 900lb spring loaded wheels to the strong quality and feel of the paint job on the locker. This locker has the best of both worlds, enough storage space especially with the 30 inch depth to put whatever tools on the shelves or even in the three drawers. They thought of everything when they built this locker, a door that is reversible for either side of your tool box and the handle will go on either side. It also has good quality liners. I just cant stop there, this thing is so nice I have to get the other locker for the other side of my box just because "I got to have it"... If you buy one you will know what I'm talking about !!! Let me start by saying I was a little hesitant to drop down such a hefty amount without researching the tool box first, all I found were the best reviews, so now after having it for 9 months it's one of the best decision's I ever made and well worth the money paid! The quality of the tool box is unbelievable.

This is NOT a cheaply made product, all top of the line materials used. Delivery was a breeze, had my tool box set up in no time. I also have to give a lot of credit to Shannon, he was great to deal with and was accurate on the shipping details. Great customer service with StrictlyToolBoxes.com They will have my recommendations to anyone who is in search of a tool box. (Posted on 1/31/12)

I love this box it is ablsolutely worth the money it is no joke. This thing is monsterous. I like every feature of it from the construction to the way the drawers slide and the amount each draw can handle. I have owned a ##%% on for the last 5 yrs and this thing is built better that that one. It even came with a stainless steel top that i was not expecting thanks. I questioned getting the locker but now that I have it a would not go without one it is so nice to hold all kinds of specialty tools that i dont have to take out of their boxes. Only problem I have with the box is I dont have enough tools to fill it up yet. I'm 6'7" and i can barely see into the top drawers. Everyone at my shop is jealous and wish they would have saved thousands and bought the box that I did (Posted on 4/29/11)

The sooner you order it the sooner you will get it! Also who knows how long these prices will last? These are heavy duty professional tool boxes but with this price even a backyard mechanic can afford to keep his tools in his home garage. Home mechanics beware, you have to make sure you have enough room. This tool box is 30" deep and the drawers extend fully so you actually need 60" of space to open the drawers. Also it does not come already stacked together and you and your buddy won't lift the top chest to stack it (I used a 2 post car lift).

The quality of this tool box is excellent. When people see my tool box they just say "WOW". Then they get a puzzled look on their face when they see Montezuma. Then when I pull open the top drawer on the bottom cabinet with over 200 sockets, ratchets, breaker bars, torque wrenches and extensions and then hang another 180 lbs. (my weight) on the drawer front, they are very impressed. I could go on all day about this tool box but let me tell you that you won't regret buying it. The only bad thing I can say about this tool box is that it doesn't come equipped for guys under 6'4". You will need to buy a step stool to see into the top drawers. Thank you Montezuma for the quality that is built into my new tool box, and Thank You strictlytoolboxes.com for the price and getting it to me. It was well worth the backorder wait. I wanted to thank you for all your help in buying and getting my Montezuma toolbox. Last tuesday 10/20/09 I went and picked them up at the warehouse in Kansas. Very nice and helpful people. I set them up at my shop that night and everyone at work was very impressed. People guess what I paid as a low of $7000 to a high of $14000. They could not believe the quality and what I paid. I am a diesel tech for a Kenworth dealership and work with 35 other techs. Again thanks for all your help, and the toolbox it is way above my expectations great product. (Posted on 10/20/09)

I bought the side cabinet not long after I bought my tool box. The shipping was fast and the shipping company was helpful in unloading, unpacking, and inspection. I originally wanted the side cabinet on the left side of my tool box but with the decal on the door it would have looked awkward. However minus the decal I would say overall if you want to add to your tool box and keep filling it with tools, buy this side cabinet. I have no complaints with it and plan on buying another side cabinet soon for the other side. Great job strictlytoolboxes.com I will continue to recommend everyone I can to your site to invest in the best tool boxes and warranties for your money. I’m 100% satisfied. (Posted on 10/6/11)

I couldn't bring myself to buy (nor could I afford) one of the "Big Name" toolboxes for $5,000 or more. luckily I found the Montezuma box... It's been a great tool box and it definitely has the storage and same features as all those expensive tool boxes. The only drawbacks I've come across are the lack of a drawer locking system and the trim isn't quite as flashy as the big names - but I can live with those drawbacks considering I've still got $3,000 or more to spend on other things. I'd still definitely recommend this to anyone for any application. (Posted on 10/3/11)

I remember looking at my Dad's tool box chuck full of tools when I was young, and hoping one day they could be passed on to me. Quality then allowed for a father/son passing on of tools. Go into any store today, and toolboxes and the tools to put in them have a life expectancy of ten years or less.

The Montezuma 41" toolbox is that old-time quality, that can be passed onto my son. Heavy-duty steel that doesn't bend or warp when pull out the drawers; robust ball-bearing slides ready to take on the heaviest of tool arrangements; Wheels that travel along the floor with durability and ease. This compounded with handsome looks that compliment any garage.

Compare a Montezuma tool box with any of the competition within the same price range, and there is no comparison. I searched four years for the right box: Cxxxxxxxx, Hxxxx, Kxxxxxt, Hxxxxx Fxxxxxx, Cxxxxx/Sxxx Cxxx, even Craig's List for a quality used Box. Problem I had, I wanted a hobbyist tool box with Sxxx Ox quality (No room in the garage for a 71", and not looking to spend $5,000 plus). After many frustrating years and Google searches, I read a couple forums discussing Montezuma boxes. The more I searched the more I was impressed. But purchasing a tool box online, without seeing it... I was wary. Shannon put those worries aside... and I'm glad he did as this is one hell of a tool box.

I have the 41" combo, this toolbox is a great value. Lots of space in the drawers, and the slides are very smooth. The only thing that could be better on this toolbox is that some of the drawer detents are not strong enough. Overall this is a great box and I am very happy with it. It was easy to purchase and the free shipping is really nice. All the guys at the shop were pretty impressed with this toolbox, especially when I told them how much it cost. (Posted on 8/25/11)

I picked up this box locally, and first off let me say that this company is legit. Shannon was very friendly and welcoming, he showed me around and let me touch the range of toolboxes they carry. Everything is top quality! Whichever brand you are looking at I can tell you from first hand experience you won't be disappointed! This is not some huge warehouse with a team of sales drones wearing head sets sitting in cubicles in front of a catalog. They know about the products they are selling, and if you give them a call you will see(hear) for yourself.
I was originally looking at a 56'' toolbox, but once I saw this in person and I saw how big it really was I decided to go with more drawers and a more vertical box. I am going to have a tough time filling this beast for sure. The drawer pulls are huge and wrap around the top witch is really nice. The over all fit and finish on the box is great, you really can't compare it to anything else in this price range, it is just above and beyond. If you are a mechanic working at a shop it could live right next to any of "the big three" boxes your buddy might have, and it will be every bit as good. The only difference between the two of you is that you will be taking your paycheck home, and he will be dropping it off at the tool truck every week for the next few years paying off his tool box.

This is a good quality heavy duty toolbox. I mounted mine on the back of a Semi truck cab and it holds up to a rough ride and keeps the tools in place. I like how every thing is right there when you open the top. It has a good locking mechanism which is strong. It is a little pricey for no drawers but worth it for ease of use. My one complaint would be that the air springs that hold up the top tools panel for access to the tools underneath are way too strong. The directions say that they will be balanced when the top is full of tools but this was still not enough to make it easy. I will be replacing these soon with lower rated air springs. First of all Shannon and his staff are great to work with. They all seem to know where and when you can expect the tool box. They answer the phone and return e-mails promptly, very impressive these days!

I had a name brand tool box which I was quite fond of but lost to a house fire. I could not see spending that much money again knowing there was a better value out there. After spending many hours searching I came upon strictly tool boxes and placed an order. Never having done this before I was very nervous. No need to worry! I run 15 trucks and could not have had this tool box as quickly as they got it to my terminal! The packaging and the tool box looked great! I have absolutely no complaints!!! Great job guys!!! I bought the exact setup in black,, really nice tool box for the money!! i have used it professionally now for 7 months....I wouldn’t have bought anything else for $5k! you cant touch this much tool box for $5k anywhere... Has better slides that comparable Sxxx-Ox toolbox, the guy next to me has the same set up in Sxxx-Ox , his box is worse than mine, his hutch is better quality but about 5 inches smaller in height inside, and I have a stainless shelf in there which is awesome!
His side cabinet is twice as nice as mine though... the cabinet is way too narrow.. needs to be 24 inches like comparable brands all are.... i hate the side cabinet.
the casters are awesome,, I have to roll my box every week and it move easily! especially with the TWO!! HUGE chrome heavy duty end handles it comes with,, no higher end brand comes with 2 with a side cabinet..

things i DONT like.....
I have to use 3 different keys everyday to unlock and lock as all 3 pieces of my box came with different keys which is stupid..
the powder coat is ok, but they didn’t prep the metal good on my hutch door in the top and the paint is all bubbled about 6 inches long, has been like that since day one.. and it scratched extremely easy..
the draw slides are awesome, but the bump stop are cheesy, the little rubber stoppers in the back of the 30 inch deep box is a pain in the butt to keep putting back on after they fall off in 2-3 months use,, i have been gluing them on with oil pan silicone to keep them there..

OVERALL I GIVE THIS BOX A 9 OUT OF 10 FOR THE VALUE AND OVERALL HUGE AMOUNT OF ROOM I GOT FOR ONLY $5000..... The Sxxx-Ox hutch is almost that much...

Thank you !!!

UPDATE from StrictlyToolBoxes.com

We are now able to provide matching lock and key sets for the entire set. We have also come out with new rubber stop/ detents to resolve the issues mentioned above.

I went from 4 C'man double stack boxes to TWO of the 72 in Classic combo sets. all I can say is WOW! What a difference in quality and function. Packaging is GREAT and the boxes arrived in a timely manner...Before you decide to drop BIG BUCKs on S### O# or other Big Truck brands...take a hard look at these! Shannon can give you a sweet deal! I HIGHLY recommend them! (Posted on 9/19/10)

This box is huge, i have tons of room in this one had a matco 55 and it was packed and with this i was able to bring a roll around home and still have 1 drawer for all my paperwork. i was thinking snap on but im glad i didnt buy it i have all the room i need and for 8000 less than snap-on all im missing is a name brand on the box and thats gonna make me more money now is it, but it sure saved me alot.

the only down side to this is i cant find a hutch or side lockers unless i go with a different brand and take a chance of the color being off (Posted on 4/25/11)

Wow! This tool chest is bigger than you would think. Like most, I am very skeptical of making a big purchase without physically seeing the product. Did my research and came to the conclusion this was the best overall purchase. The box showed up pakaged like it was ready for war. Make sure you have at least 4 guys to help place the hutch on top or some sort of lift. I use it for personal use in my custom garage. The box is impressive. Same quality as the big 3. Makes a statement and my friends / family are envious. I would recomend it and I am truly one critic for perfection. My brother who is a 20yr. Master Tech. told me " The other guys are going down!" My tool box came in today and I got the side cabinet mounted, great box. It's as good or better than the truck brands for a great price.
Thanks, Rocky

This is my first larger tool box. I love it. I get plenty of comments and questions about where I got it. I gladly tell them and make sure to include the price that can't be beat anywhere I could find for a box this size. No complaints what-so-ever. A note to future buyers though; the "cattle guards" on either end are bigger than they look online, about 1 1/2- 2" pipe. They have saved my box twice already from aircraft move crews though!!! Love this box! (Posted on 1/6/11)

Just received it today, fantastic deal, sturdiest toolbox for the money, VERY happy, and I love showing it off! The dealership owner was very impressed! I will be a repeat customer thanks to the product and the service from the STB staff! (Posted on 11/18/10)

It is a very heavy box. Like the last reviewer said the bottom two drawers have double slides, but I wish the largest drawer in the box did. The top drawer is where I keep sockets, ratchets, and extensions, and I've had to warranty the slides once. The other gripe I have is that mountain does not seem to make a side box for this, only the locker. Being "vertically challenged", I don't want to expand my box up. (Posted on 10/21/10)

Great value. This box is not quite the quality of a box that you would get off "the tool trucks", but it is 1/ 4th the price! It seems to be put together well. I would say that it makes a pretty good entry level, or even mid-level "professional" box or a great "harry homeowner" box (if you have the room in your home garage), it's not a small box. I ordered this toolbox monday night, and it arived wednesday afternoon. The packaging was great. Box looks great. Very heavy duty. If someone told me they paid $4000 for it i would believe them... Both bottom drawers have double roller bearings on them, all the rest had single. This box came with a foam type material , about 3/4" thick, that goes ontop the box. It also came with 2 extra lock sets with keys and the "Mountain" logo came in the package, so you have the option of putting it on. All in all i feel like i got a very nice toolbox for a great price. As a tech in a 30 bay shop I found the need to replace my 1984 model "Mxx" toolbox for more room. I shopped around and ended up looking on line. After finding StricklyToolBoxes I was courious as to the quality of the boxes. I went out on a limb and recently purchased the Montezuma MTZ-5519. I was concerned from the pictures of what the finish would be like. When I opened the crate I was pleasantly surprized (releaved). It has a wonderful finish and is the envy of the shop. Thank you very much. The lower box is a little tricky getting all of the drawers to latch when locking. Other than that I am very satisfied.

Looking for a large side locker. Spoke with all the major tool companies. Prices are too expensive to believe. Called up Strictly Toolboxes, said everything was top notch and made a sale. Box was delivered as promised, fit and finish- top shelf, value superb!! By the way, I am a professional master auto technician with 30 yrs. experience and numerous tool box purchases from tool guys. Great locker, Superb value!!! (Posted on 8/27/09)

Needed locker for scanner boxes, other things that were just too big or bulky for my bottom/ top combo. Good quality(but could be wider) especially for the price. None of the big 3 offer anything similar, their cheapest start @ 2100.00! It's deep, good quality and inexpensive, might buy another. (Posted on 1/17/09)
Montezuma Elite 72 Tool Cabinet - Tool Chest & Side Cabinet Reviews

Best Tool Box Ever Purchased - Junkman
